Does any one know if the 2200 ring and dust shroud are still being included with the CMS's now a days?

I got my CMS in November 2013 (I am in the USA), and yes the parts were included.

(Insert Festool warranty notification here)

When you [don't] use the 2200 in the CMS, make sure you [don't] install the dust shield that keeps the chips out of the collet ratchet. I [don't] know that the chips will jamb the ratchet and you can't release the bit. Seeing as I [never] installed the 2200 in my CMS I've [never] had this happen.

I bought my CMS in May and it came with the 2200 components.

But since your not going to do that then theres no reason for me to tell you if it happens then you just have to remove the black cover and blow the chips out and reinstall the cover. that will solve that problem.

whew Im sure glad I didnt have to tell ya that

Don't remove any of the OF2200 clear dust rings. The permanent ring will lock in the full up position. Install the lower one then mount the router. After it is in the table position the clear 2200 dust ring that came with the CMS carefully aligning the notch with the router notch. you also have to remove the Metal lift Tab that is for the 1010/1400 on the lift tower also the index tab goes into a hole that is 120 degrees starboard of the two used for the 1010/1400. It works great and the dust collection is far better than the 1400. I have been burning through qtr.sawn white Oak stiles and rails using Freud French Door Glass panel entry door set all day !

Statement from Festool.

Warning: The Festool CMS System is approved for use with only the OF 1400 and OF 1010 routers in the US and Canadian markets.  It is not approved for use with the OF 2200, nor with any of the CMS modules currently available outside the US and Canadian markets (TS, Jigsaw and sanding modules).  Festool USA does not  endorse the use of these components and will not support them with spare  parts or repairs. The use of anything other than the OF 1400 and OF 1010 routers and their related accessories with the CMS will void the warranty agreement on the entire system for customers within the US and Canada. Festool does not endorse the application or use of any Festool product in any way other than in the manner described in the Festool Instruction Manual. To reduce the risk of serious injury and/or damage to your Festool product, always read, understand and follow all warnings and instructions in your Festool product's Instruction Manual.

Like I said ALL UL, BS, legalize whatever, they difference between a lawyer and and engineer can't be measured with logic in the end it works just as well on this side on the pond as it works on the other side of the pond. An ocean doesn't change elementary physics. All I can say is I am happy and I don't care what lawyers and US Govt. idiots approve or not it works and it's great! We all know that if US govt. employees knew what they were doing they would be in private practice no working for the govt.

Can I post a pic from an iPhone???

In a word, yes. It's not a lot different than posting from a computer.

A lot of folks seem to like Tapatalk as an app for posting to web forums. I'm not one of them, but then I don't typically post from my phone.

Thanks I will try it. I do have a DSLR but I took some good shots for my dealer on the phone after I got it going. It was easy even without complete instructions as all intuitive festal products have been. It only took a few minutes of observation. The lift actually works better with 2200 than it does with the others as that is what it was designed for. It is only with the Adapter that it works for the 1010/1400. reeve it and it seats closely with the lift tower, like a glove actually. Other than that the index attachment and the entire router rotates about 120 starboard to a single hole. Everything else is the same. The primary dust cover on the 2200 locks up and the secondary travels. the clear dust ring goes on after you turn the router plate over and mount the black ring. it's gravy. Even if you don't use the power switch the 2200 switch is just as easy to use in position as the on/off button!!! it less than 6 inches away! But it would be  a waste as I posted earlier the supplied switch is more than enough for the 2200

Not to hijack the thread, but on a tangentially related subject...  I believe there are a number of members that would be interested in a CMS/2000 solution; even something aftermarket.  I have that honkin' bad boy and it would be great if I could dedicate it to the CMS.  [cool]
