Rail Stops

Hello,
I have a question about the small rail stops that Festool sells.  They are the small items that slide onto the rail for determining lets say a Stop Dado if you were using your RAIL GUIDES or using your saw I would  think to plunge into the center of a panel with an exact length of cut.  You would set them a predetermined distance apart.

I just purchased two of them and they both seem to be the same.  But the way they are made with the small notch in the one corner leads me to believe that there is a LEFT and a RIGHT?  They have an arrow embossed on them so there is only one way for them to fit the rail.  The part no. that I purchased is FS-RSP  491582 is there another one that might be the opposite hand?

thank you for reading

As far as I know, there is no left or right version of these; the arrow just indicates the direction to slide them into the guide rail. Other than that, they work just as described; the front of the stop does have a small tab which locks together with the base plate of the track saw, which prevents kickback when starting a plunge cut. Make sure to use the scribed lines on the saw housing to set up your start and stop points, set both stops, and you're all set.

As said above there's no left and right ,it's just a kickback stop that can also be used for various other uses on the rails.

thank you fellows,

I was not aware of the reason for the notch in the front part of the stop.  I appreciate  the help, as always with you guys it's educational.

Thank you very much for the replies
