Hello,

Asking for my neighbor.  He recently bought a TS 55 REQ track saw from a local guy.

He sent a picture of a knob found at bottom of the TS 55 REQ systainer.

He said the housing is getting in the way of installing the bolt of the knob onto the rear of the saw.

I’m not at home to help him on how to get the knob back onto the saw.

Ideas and Tips are appreciated!

Thank you.

Just off the top of my head, I would say that he probably needs to loosen the front one and tilt the saw over some to gain better access to the other bolt location.

There's enough room to get it reinstalled with the saw at 0 degrees.  Tilting it in this case doesn't free up any room to work, but may move the hole to a more agreeable position.  Tilt it too far and you might get it into the adjacent hole that isn't used for the knob.

You have to drop the bolt in to the body at a slight angle to get it into the bevel/tilt adjust channel, then rotate the bolt to line it up with the hole, then push it through with a second hand's finger.

A pair of needle-nosed pliers help tremendously, and remove the need for the second hand to push the bolt through.

Note: One may be tempted to tilt the saw and release the backstop to 47 degrees.  This will get you close to reinstallation, but only just enough to jam the bolt in between the body and the housing but not actually install it.
