Real world TOPROCK range?

I just picked up a TOPROCK used from a friend, put it to use for the first time this weekend on some projects.  I tend to keep my phone in my pocket while working, and found that as soon as I turned a corner away from the TOPROCK, the music would pause & I'd have to keep re-starting it when returning to the area I had the top rock set up.  I'd say the max reliable distance I could walk before it cut out was around 30 ft., a far cry from the advertised 164 ft.

Is there a reset of some sort I should try before sending it into Festool for evaluation?

What you observe is actually the standard Bluetooth range.

The 100 m (sometimes 50 m, sometimes 30 m depending who you ask) is in open space range without intereference and everything between you and the speakers will shorten it. Including your body when you turn around etc.

In practice most bluetooth devices on the "high power" profiles work up to about 10 m and everything beyond is a happenstance heavily dependant on the environment.

The best range I have ever gotten out of Bluetooth is with my Apple Airpods Pros while shoveling snow.  At the furthest, I can get about 150 feet from my iPad, in open air, and not have anything cut out.  If I'm using them while mowing and go around the corner of the house, I can get maybe 30-40 feet, tops.  If I'm on the other end of the house from the iPad, it cuts almost immediately after I turn the corner.

With a pair of Jabra earbuds, my range is maybe 3/4 of that.

As mino said, what you're experiencing is normal for Bluetooth.
