Recommend a nice set of measuring calipers

I use Starrett and Mitutoyo.

Both well made and accurate.  I have both analog and digital in Starrett and digital in the Mitutoyo.  Amazon carries both.  The digital versions will measure in both metric and imperial, which is great if you are trying to transition from one to the other for Festool stuff!

Price will vary depending on the precision and length you want.

For a dial caliper I use Etalon. Swiss made, and by far the smoothest caliper I've ever used, and I've used them all.

For a digital caliper, I use Brown & Sharpe Dura Cal. Swiss made also, by Tesa. Also note that the B&S is IP67 compliant for use around fluids. Caliper in imperial mode.

Caliper in metric mode.

Mitutoyo, world leader in calipers. I have an analog Mitutoyo, didn't cost much and does what it must do.
