Recon tools - the final stretch - 40% off all tools

I'm going to be in the market for a new wife soon if I don't stop watching this list....

I'm okay with dealers shipping in their own country, understandable but a Canadian can't buy a US tool as a gift to be shipped to their US friend in NY because the buyers billing address is from CAN?

If it was going to someone in the US, I would probably have recommended that you order from a US dealer.

You can have both of my exes, but I can't recommend either of them...

That's what I mean (US dealer). I (Canadian) called a US dealer today to buy a tool to be shipped to this place in the US where I drive down and pick up.  CAN billing address, US hopping address.  I was told he couldn't sell to a Canadian no matter where it was vein drop shipped.  So I guess even gifts to the US (from a US dealer) bought by us up in the icy North isn't possible?    I was told no.
So I called someone else who did.  I just don't know if it'll be cancelled tomorrow or I was just lucky or the rep was wrong.

Well, technically, that's gaming the system. You said a gift for a friend. You didn't say your friend was you. In that case, you should have ordered from a Canadian dealer and shipped to yourself. You're just hurting your dealers in Canada by not supporting them.

Jodo,
Here's the trick, get someone you know to use there CC and address, I do about 50-50. My wife knows about half.  I know it's terrible to do, but if she knew what I paid for a kapex, when I already have 5 mitre saws, she would flip.  I have a mobile wood shop, so she never enters it, and therefore never knows what I buy.  In my case, a guy who works for me, he has an account at my distributor, and when I call, they always say, "well, who's it for today"  very comical.  It's such an addictive thing.  I need one tool yet, and I have every item that is made in the states.  And I can't wait till the vecturo comes here.  I need one ASAP.

Hi Shane. Have you had a chance to connect with the Canadian Service centre to see what is available for recon tools? If not, if you could provide me with the contact info I can call them myself, saving you sometime, or maybe the sales rep for the Toronto area. Cheers,JC

All of these are in very small quantities, but this is what's available in Canada. Contact your dealer to order.

This may be a silly question, but is there a different list for Canada than the US?  If so, I'm jealous of some their items.  [eek]

Karl, yes, they have a different list. There is separate reconditioned tool inventory at our Canadian repair center.

Thanks Shane.  Jealousy it is. [blink]

But our friends north of the border are jealous of our prices.  IIRC, Shane said their discounts are 10%.

Is there anyway to buy tools after hours, I have always used beaver tools, but they are closed. I keep thinking I wanna switch to uncle BOB. I have talked to him, I love the fact that he actually answers a phone.  The owner at beaver tools stopped dealing with people years ago.  So bob, are you taking new customers?

Just out of curiosity Shane, do you know how the Kapex is sent...is it a complete kit, with the angle finder and a new blade? Thanks

Chris, all reconditioned tools are shipped complete with all of their original components. So, yes, the angle finder will be there. As for the blade, I believe what I was told that the blade would be inspected to make sure it's in like-new condition. If not, it's replaced. Again, these are 30-day returns, so they have generally seen little use.

Anyone looking for a drill set should seriously look at 564247 (T12+3) or 564250 (T15+3).  I've purchased three, and just can't pull the trigger on any more, out of principle.  ;D  For $150 (T12) or $162 (T15) you get the following:

Drill
2 Lithium batteries
Battery charger
Systainer with attic lid
Eccentric chuck
Right angle chuck
3-jaw chuck
Centrotec chuck
Centrotec adapter
Centrotec drill bit

All three of mine have been absolutely pristine, appearing unused (maybe they are from the "safety" stock...not sure how that works).  To me, they are a steal at $150 (the chucks alone are worth more than that).  Would make a great Christmas gift!

Ok, let me see if I can quickly better explain what I'm calling safety stock.

Imagine a pile of 30-day returned tools sitting in our warehouse. We have a close, somewhat good idea of how many we have of each. Maybe we think we have 20 TS 55s. Well, when you look at our website to see what's available, if we get down to a low quantity, it drops off the list. Because there are times where our cycle counts are off and we might have 19 instead of 20. So, to keep from overselling what we have in stock, I keep a few in the kitty as a backup. Well, today, we did a cycle count on everything that was left to make sure the inventory figures were correct. So, we released those few that we keep as backups for purchase.

Hope that is a better explanation. That's also why almost everything added today is red, meaning very low availability.

Shane

Thanks so much Shane! Have a great night, Chris

I had to turn to whiskey to hold back from a T18 4.2 after just getting a T18 3.0

If I weren't in school right now this would be a far different story...
