I just purchased a Festool Dust Extractor CT 25 HEPA and love it. I am using it to replace my old very loud shop vac. I have a remote switch that I have used for years to turn my shop vac on and off for my shop vac system. My question is, is there anyway to keep my CT 25 in the "ON" position without have to walk over and turn it on every time I need it?

I wish someone could come up with a way to do just that. The old knob switch type is far better. and the membrane switch is prone to failing too after it's pressed enough times.

By accident, I found out yesterday how to do more or less just that (at least for the CT15)!

If you leave the CT on but unplug its power cord from the wall outlet, it'll turn off the extractor. When you plug the cord back into the outlet, the CT will come back in its ON state, without pressing the membrane switch.

You can use a power bar to turn the CT on and off instead of plugging and unplugging the cord, but I intend to install an outlet with a switch once I come back from a planned trip. You should be able to apply this and use a wireless switch/plug to achieve remote control.

First time stepping into the shop after a vacation break of a month and a half, and the first shop chore completed is a proper wall switch to turn on and off the CT15 so I can use the bluetooth feature without reaching for the membrane switch on the extractor:

For protection against power surge, the CT15 wall switch is plugged into a surge protector outlet.

The next shop chore will be to find a place for hanging the Bosch cordless drills. Their previous storage spots are taken up by a pair of like-new Ridgid cordless drills given to me free.
