Repetitive narrow strips

Hi all,

I know that this is a topic repeatedly discussed in this forum and I read many of them, but I still don't get it.
I don't know why repetitive narrow strips are difficult using Track saw + MFT.
Yes, I understand that if the rip is longer than 24 inch, the rip gets longer than the regular guide rail and can't do it. We could swap the guide rail to a longer one and use the longer side of the table but it takes time to set it up.
Yes, if the strip is narrower than the guide rail, we can't use the regular stop and repetitive cut is difficult but then we can use a MDF board with precise 90 degree cut (or MFS) as a stop beneath the guide rail as a stop for repetitive cuts.

So, I would understand the problem for "narrow and long (longer than 24 inch)" repetitive rip, but some mentioned difficulty for drawer slides, which are usually not particularly "narrow and long" usually.

I wonder I'm missing something?

You need the festool parallel guides. There are some good usage videos on you tube. You won't be disappointed as they fix the thin strip issue and are trivial to set up. If you look it up in their catalog you need the set to do then strips. They also make breaking down plywood much easier. The videos will sell you.

Not to beat a dead horse but, what you need is a table saw.  I don't try to cut full sheets of plywood on my table saw and I never cut thin strips with a skill (track) saw.  My table saw is tuned so that the blade to miter slot and fence is with .002" OVER 30" so accurate, repeatable and quick cuts are accomplished in less than a minute.  I try to use the appropriate tool for every job.

Yeah, I guess I understood that. I have a table saw and I use it only for a rip longer than 24 inches AND too narrow for the parallel guide.
I'm just wondering why some people feel repetitive narrow strips for something like drawer sides are difficult....

I have the parallel guides and I can cut a paper thin strip if necessary. Do you have all four pieces that make up the Parallel Guide set. If you don't then you are correct in that you can't do it.
