Replaceable Cutter Spiral Router Bit

He ordered it direct from a dealer in China that makes router bits and spiral cutter heads to spec. It's absolutely superb quality, and was only $225 AUD landed which I thought was a bargain. Aliexpress does have similar cheaper ones but they aren't quite as good quality I think:

The flutes are noticeably different, but I don't see why they wouldn't be very good despite being cheaper, I'll be buying a few from Ali to try out. The fact you can use all 4 edges of the inserts is just great, in comparison my thicknesser only has 2 usable edges.

I did initially really worry about the sheer mass and size of it with the router, but needn't have worried. I trimmed roughly 5-8mm off a bunch of 30mm thick hard maple architrave edges in one pass, and it was whisper quiet in use, no kickback or vibration of any kind, just super smooth! Had the speed set to 3-4 on the OF2200.

I'll try and find out the details of the guy he went through.
Be careful of Aliexpress.  I ordered that exact bit from them and they kept telling me it was on the way, Yet I waited and waited and waited.  40 days later I get an email from them asking me to check the Goodyear Post Office for it.Huh?  Id did and it was not there so I asked them to go back and figure out where it was.  Well, it never came!  I will say this though, their customer service was on the ball and refunded my money right away.

I've only had to raise an issue once with Ali and they sorted it immediately without fuss. Having said that, I'm so impressed by these cutters from CSP Tooling I'll be buying a lot more through them going forward. Their prices are really good, and the quality and performance is just phenomenal.

They have some more single bearing bits I want, and once I can find the specs for the cutterhead used in the Jet JPT-260 combo machine, they'll make me a custom helical shear cutterhead at a sensational price. A mate had a custom one made by CSP for his Felder AD 410mm planer and he was over the moon with the quality and perfect machining of it. It was an absolutely perfect replacement for the original cutterhead.

The carbide blade on my ancient HL850E planer is woefully worn and damaged, so a couple weeks ago I ordered a spiral cutterhead from CSP Tools, the same crowd I got the fantastic router cutter in the earlier posts above from.
[member=75933]luvmytoolz[/member] I looked at CSP Tools site (https://www.csptooling.com/) and did not see any planer cutter heads except for Makita 2012NB. Was this a custom order?

This is the post I spotted it in:https://www.instagram.com/p/CsjfFK6p3Mq/

The entire head with 21 inserts was $136 USD inc shipping to OZ which is just dirt cheap for such a well made product! Shipping also was just a couple weeks.

I'm not finding it available any where.  [sad]

I E-mailed them months ago asking about price availability and delivery. I have not heard back.

I just emailed them from the address on their website and this was the reply I received after 45 minutes:
Thanks so much for your inquiry about this Festool HL850 cutterhead. Real shear helical cutterhead 150 USD, spiral cutterhead 120 USD.
Regards

The email is used was csptooling@gmail.com

I actually chatted via insta with the cutters I've ordered. Pretty quick response everytime.

They sent me a paypal invoice to pay.

Luvmytoolz , wanted to thank you for this thread.
Like others I was psyched bout that Cutterhead for the HL850 , but couldn’t find anything on CSPTooling’s website.
I don’t have any of that Instagrass, Faceshmook, or all that… so I reached out to them directly, enquiring about the cutter head. Their rep Shu Chen got back to me and assured me she’ll make contact once they have a few ready from their production line.
It took a few months but ,as promised, she contacted me last month and helped me out with the entire purchase …I got the Real Shear CutterHead for the HL850,and also one for the EHL65!! If anyone is interested the cutterheads are now available directly on their site:
https://www.csptooling.com/collections/spiral-shear-helix-cuttethead-for-machines

Scroll down all the way to the bottom of the page and you’ll see three options for Festool Machines.

If you run into any problems with delivery options, just contact em directly, Chen is very helpful and friendly. Shipping was super-quick too via UPS…exactly two days from dispatch to delivery, from Hong Kong to Miami Beach!
Cant wait to actually try em out, but I’m sure they’ll be as amazing as you say, luvmytoolz!
Thanks again man!

[member=71106]mephistoskitchen@gmail.com[/member] Most welcome mate, so glad I could be of help!!

They are just sensational! I've since bought a some of the carbide insert int/ext scrapers, as well as some of the shorter single bearing spiral insert cutters, and all are just amazing to use. The only disappointment is the newly designed 45 degree insert vee cutter that has a balance problem in my CNC spindle. I've let them know about it and they're raising it with the engineers.

But all in all, truly sensational cutters really cheap and super fast postage!
