Review of the Festool CC

For the purpose of this review I will admit that Festool has supplied me
with two Festool CCs. They were not given for the expressed purpose
of doing a review,. This review is being done entirely by me with no re numeration
by Festool or any one else. We did, however,  receive these  after buying a foot locker full
of sanders, sandpaper. Jig saws, plunge saws, routers, rails etc.

Now for the review.

Upon careful examination I have found that the Festool CCs are 10 Millie things high
and 7.3 Millie things wide with a handle that is 1.3 Millies wide.
The Festool CC has a capacity of 9 ounces, just a silly ounce more than a cup.
The lip is well designed and helps a lot if you dribble.
The handle I believe was designed by the same engineer that designed the handle on the Kapex .
After you have had your first shaky cup in the mourning you start to get used to it.

Let me tell you how this sort of thing happens. The high Honcho calls in one of his engineers, hands
him some papers and says "You can handle this". In this case I think his name was Heinz who got the job. Well, I don't know of an Engineering School in the world that teaches "Handles 101",
so Heinz was on his own. With no competition he soon began to be called "Heinz Handle".
Rumor has it  that he is now working on his Doctorate.

Back to the review

The quality of the ceramic is quite high, bordering on porcelain, with a fine glaze that I hope lead free.
I see no evidence that this tool is being made in China, which would be a harbinger of the
future. The logo is weak and one sometimes needs to turn the tool to read it.
The fairy images of Festools  are just to delicate.

Do I like them, Yes

Can they be improved. YES

Here is my concept of Festool CC Model II

Increase the capacity to 12 ounces with head room.
Get Heinz Handle to redesign the handle in more of a macho stein style.
Bump up the logo so you can read it

Festool Festool Festool Festool Festool Festool Festool

Leave off the fairy stuff.

Just think of it guys, with a pair of these you would always be ready when a friend
or   neighbor drops  in. Give him a beer or coffee and wait for him to see the bold
Festool logo on the Model II.. When he says "FESTOOL"  that is your cue to jump up, pop systainer lids and go into your Festool dog and pony, song and dance routine. What a glorious thing to watch
them start to slide down that slippery slope.

Come to think about it, Festool doesn't have a jingle----Hmmmmm.

Like Foot Ball, nothing starts with out a good cup.

Respectfully submitted

Bob

:D :D :D :D

Hi,

I get the joke but on a serious note.  I have one of those . Are they available again.  I want more ;D

Nice review Bob. I have just a couple of technical gripes.

First, the dimensions are wrong unles you recieved the doll house version.
I suspect you meant Cillies instead of Millies.

Second, where do you think porcelain was invented? Why do they call it China?

;D

As these CC's were given to you I am afraid I cannot accept your review as being fair. Please would someone else who has purchased such a cup be willing to provide an alternative review?

Sorry Bob, no offence intended, but you are sullied! LOL

Michael, I am not much on on this metric stuff it just misses up my mind and the mind is the second
thing to go.

About the china China thing, I was worried that if they started to buy china in China that that could be the chink in
the Festool amour that would lead to other things,  like t-shirts, drills and stuff.

Woodentop ----- bring em on, bring em on  >:(

Semenza----- Check with Uncle Bob  ::)

How's the CC's dust collection?  ;)

Like all Festool products the dust collection is great, set the CC (with beverage of you choice inside) anywhere near dust and it collects it all. Gotta love that Festool DC.

Damn, Bob.

That's my favorite cup! I will check to see if Festool has any left; I was told they were out after I bought a few cases last year.

Bob, I'm not sure if this is a typo or a Freudian slip.
Maybe it's not even a slip, since it's emotionally correct.  ;)

You are clever  Michael , really. clever
Gotta love you fast Festorians.
Sometimes my subtleness  dost not fall on deft ears.

Sorry Uncle Bob

too funny, you get used to it but you are still in mourning.

This was another Festool item that greased my slide down the slope.
My wife discovered that these accessories were a perfect size for her hands and they have therefore become 'her perfect cup of tea' when working. They have been in daily use since their arrival which is more that can be said about most of the other tools. Each time I consider ordering more stuff she hopes that I can get another couple of them. (Bob?)
As to dust collection? They don't seem to stay still long enough to catch any.

Fantastic, review, Mr. Swenson!!  I'm still laughing even after having read the rest of the thread.

Dave,
Thank you for your kind comment. It is most appreciated.
My buddy Alf thinks I am number one too. A portion of this message has been deleted by the forum administrator.

Great review Bob!  ;D

I have 5 Festool CCs which just about enough of them that I can always find one (just like my supply of good tape measures, carpenter pencils, #2 Robertson screwdrivers, and other tools that I use a lot and put down somewhere -5 seems to be the required number).

One very important thing that I noticed is that the Festool CC is the only ceramic cup that I have that fits into the cup holder on our Audi.

I can't believe I got suck into this thread.  I wanted to know what was the Festool CC.  Now, I'm heading to the Buck to get a paper version of the CC.  Very thorough review.
