Review of the Festool CC
For the purpose of this review I will admit that Festool has supplied me
with two Festool CCs. They were not given for the expressed purpose
of doing a review,. This review is being done entirely by me with no re numeration
by Festool or any one else. We did, however, receive these after buying a foot locker full
of sanders, sandpaper. Jig saws, plunge saws, routers, rails etc.
Now for the review.
Upon careful examination I have found that the Festool CCs are 10 Millie things high
and 7.3 Millie things wide with a handle that is 1.3 Millies wide.
The Festool CC has a capacity of 9 ounces, just a silly ounce more than a cup.
The lip is well designed and helps a lot if you dribble.
The handle I believe was designed by the same engineer that designed the handle on the Kapex .
After you have had your first shaky cup in the mourning you start to get used to it.
Let me tell you how this sort of thing happens. The high Honcho calls in one of his engineers, hands
him some papers and says "You can handle this". In this case I think his name was Heinz who got the job. Well, I don't know of an Engineering School in the world that teaches "Handles 101",
so Heinz was on his own. With no competition he soon began to be called "Heinz Handle".
Rumor has it that he is now working on his Doctorate.
Back to the review
The quality of the ceramic is quite high, bordering on porcelain, with a fine glaze that I hope lead free.
I see no evidence that this tool is being made in China, which would be a harbinger of the
future. The logo is weak and one sometimes needs to turn the tool to read it.
The fairy images of Festools are just to delicate.

Do I like them, Yes
Can they be improved. YES
Here is my concept of Festool CC Model II
Increase the capacity to 12 ounces with head room.
Get Heinz Handle to redesign the handle in more of a macho stein style.
Bump up the logo so you can read it
Festool Festool Festool Festool Festool Festool Festool
Leave off the fairy stuff.
Just think of it guys, with a pair of these you would always be ready when a friend
or neighbor drops in. Give him a beer or coffee and wait for him to see the bold
Festool logo on the Model II.. When he says "FESTOOL" that is your cue to jump up, pop systainer lids and go into your Festool dog and pony, song and dance routine. What a glorious thing to watch
them start to slide down that slippery slope.
Come to think about it, Festool doesn't have a jingle----Hmmmmm.
Like Foot Ball, nothing starts with out a good cup.
Respectfully submitted
Bob
