Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, ALRIGHT!!!!!!!! [mad] [mad]

Your vid and Kregs review got me thinking and Woodguy and John have convinced me so you can have 25% of the credit!

At least the next time you drop by my workshop you wont be ripping the hell out of me about that horrible big yellow thing in the corner!!

HAPPY NOW!!! ;D

All I can say is  [big grin]

I think it was 30% at least !  [poke]

Guy,

Dont think you will regret investing in the Kapex and stand. it gives you workshop quality cuts and accuracy any where you are working. It is good. Next thing for you to have a look at is the CS50 now thats an interesting bit of kit that can change the way you work . It to give workshop quality anywhere you are working.

yes it is correct that I have put the saw on backwards on the stand and will be reversing it this weekend and wll show it on the stand correctly with an updated video.  it still works in either direction only when you close it down and add the wings does it make a difference.  sorry for the error  but otherwise everything in the video is correct.

Are you left-handed, Kreg?

Kreg, Windmillman, Woodguy, & of course JMB

Following your reviews and advice look what happened to that big yellow machine, it changed shape and colour!!

There you go!!

Great saw and feel it is a good step forward. ;D

One of those "I should have done this before" episodes! [doh]

Must admit very impressed with the stability of the extensions, and never had lasers on a saw before, another revelation.

The dust collection is amazing but now will have to clean the whole workshop up!!

I dont think there is but would be good if there was a carry case or storage bags for the extensions for transporting them. I know they are supposed to fit on the stand but cant see I would transport them like that.

One downside, I have got to rerack the van (again) to fit this baby in properly!! ;D

Guy!  Great glad the stand review helped you even though I Put it on sdrawkcab.  (figure it out!)

Looks great in your shop. And everybody in the us can buy it tomorrow March 1st

I am right handed by the way!

I thought there was a plastic caps with some sort straps to carry the extensions, are they not included?

I did not get them yet and yes you are correct. I stated in the video about them. Should have them any time

Anyone got some pics of that stand folded up completely and showing all the various pcs. one would have to load into the trailer and out?

I'm not one for sitting through review videos, so if it's in there, I missed it.

Has anyone checked yet to see if the laser lines can be seen in daylight?

I have a laser bearing on my Bosch, but you can't see the dang thing unless you're inside....

I can see mine in the daylight, although to be fair we dont get much sunlight here  [sad]

Nice one Guy, dont think you will look back.  Does that mean i am allowed to get one of those stands now ?  [blink]

Alan

Highly recommend the stand and new extensions, err... have I ever said not to get one [embarassed] [embarassed]???

Hi Guy,
Congrats, Dogs dangley bits isnt it.
You should have got the carryng thing with the extensions. 2 plastic moulded end caps with some nylon  webbing with the Festool logo woven in. Thought it was part of it. when the extensions are in it they locate on the botton bar and allow you to transport the whole thing. If you have not got them , or you dont know what i mean let me know i ll do pics.

best john

Yeah, it is the mutts nuts, no doubt. I have no idea why Woodguy is holding off on the UG stand and extensions, cant understand that at all! [tongue] [embarassed]

I have got the plastic caps and Festool straps. Just first impressions were, "I'm not sure I would transport it like that"

Out cutting in some tricky stairs on a refurb next week so it will have its first outing and I will see how it goes!

I love the protection and conveinience of the FS-PA big bag for my rails and guides and so just thought it would be good if there was something similar for the UG extensions.

Thanks for the shove!! [smile]

Yes they do come with plastic caps an straps all in one.  They are a PITA they are confusing and just time consuming not worth it I think I have thrown mine some where I cant even remember where they are any more. The problem is you have to put the extensions the right way together and the caps will only go on 1 way if you dont get them right the caps wont fit on! Duh! lol  OKay I did get the hang of knowing which way round the extensions should be put together and which way round the caps after a bit but even then it still PITA.

Then while traveling with the extensions on the Kapex Stand you fear that the rails might bounce off as they only rest in place they dont LOCK into place. As the wheels are hard on the stand little stones kinda make the kapex go abit crazy as you pull it along!  Any way often well on jobs I work you need to just quickly lift the kapex up few inches over a curb or some wood or couple steps having the extensions on means you will have to remove them first then lift the stand.

ALSO I only really use the left extension its not often I need the right one so caps are useless for me.

Well thats my reasons for not using them!

Evenig Guy, JMB,

Yes the end cap are a bit confusing at first. but its better than having the unprotected ends of the extensions getting beaten up banging around the van. A bunge cord keeps them in place on the cart.

Any one tried putting them in the big bag? most of the internal sections are velcroed to the outer.

Im sure you will enjoy the outing next week, bang on cuts and not having to fight the wood and not having to work on your knees.

Im sure Woodguy will get round to it. mind you its a lot of money and he is a Scotsman! [poke] [big grin]

Well Wood guy best do!  lol I made that video just for him!! lol

Yes using a strap would hold but for me that aint how I work. As you could see in the video I like to be up and down quick so trying to get the caps on then placing them onto the stand then using a strap to hold wont work with me just aint how I roll man!

I have a perfect little place for my kapex where I can easily place 1 or 2 extensions inbetween my bulk head kapex and MFT which holds them in place perfectly and the big plus is does not mater which way they go  [tongue] So its quick and easy no messing about.

Oh good Evening Wind Man

Ah Brett,

As my old foreman joiner used to say to me.

More haste less speed.  [big grin] [big grin] That phrase was often followed by Ancient Anglo Saxon. questions about my usefullness and my parentage.  [big grin] [big grin]

The flatulence is better at the moment
