well someones measurements are off because they do not drop down, lol they do not line up at all. now just to be clear i am talking about the little rubber feet that are on the brackets that mount to the kapex. from what i can tell they are mounted on the saw correctly. but the little rubber feet dont come close to fitting any hole patter in the mtf. i\\\\\\\'ll check and see if i don\\\\\\\'t have the brackets on backwards or something, lol

I just checked my Kapex on the MFT/3, the rubber feet on the Kapex itself fit in the holes.  I believe you are referring to the bracket for the UG stand not fitting, is that correct.

yes brice that is why i said let me be clear and said the grey feet under the mounting brackets in my follow up post to Tom = )

peter

i tried but it keeps telling me the file size might be too large, i have to scale down the image i guess.

Here is the image that Shoe Maker sent to me that I have altered for clarification.

Now I got you!

You're talking about the bracket, not the KAPEX itself.

yup. thanks pete.. i thought it would be obvious since i don\'t remember seeing my kapex itself having any feet like that under it that fit into the holes. i used to just plop it on top where ever it landed. so when people said theirs fit in the holes i assumed they knew i was talking about the rubber feet on the brackets. does the kapex come with feet like that? or is it part of the mounting set up for the kapex mtf?

since they made the rubber feet on the mounting brackets for the ug stand so long instead of just shallow pads, at first glance  i said those must plop into the mtf holes also.

would of been sweet if they dropped into the holes and lock it down with the brackets still on as an alternative set up.

Shoe Maker,

The kapex has feet.  At least mine does.

Peter

You are very welcome! [big grin]

i must have taken them off a long time ago when i first got my saw to fit on the miter saw stand i had at that time. or i got gyped!!! lol

anyway so the dealer i bought the ug stand from should send me the extension brackets that lock the two extensions together for transport when they come in? or do i need to call them and let them know? i got it from the tool-nut festool website.

I dont think so they should be on your kapex still unless you have worn them down a bit lol.  The kapex has little rubbers but they don't come out as much as the ones on the UG bracket so maybe thats why you didnt notice them maybe.

for those of you wondering about crown stops with the new kapex stand the current ones do work with the stand.  the attached picture is the way I do and have done crown for the last 10 years.  even when I used my sawhelper stand I set up the crown just like this.  I learned this method from Gary Katz.  you just need another new board usually a 1x6 by about 40" is best.  I like this method due to the fact it supports the crown all the across the face of the saw, even if you are just cutting off the end with of the board with an inside or outside cut, it supports it very well.

weather or not crown stops work or not this is the way I will always do crown.  so it does not matter to me if the new stand will accept crown stops or not I like this method very much.

Kreg:
I agree, that method is a far better way to hold crown for cutting.
I still like the crown stops for the added length they give the Kapex bed though.

I like the bed extensions that comes with the Crown Stops more than the Stops themselves.

I use those bed extensions on the MFt all the time. I also switch them back to the Kapex at a moment's notice thanks to the v-groove system.

Well are the Kapex UG arm extensions not extensions to the kapex?!?!?

Yes, they are definitely extensions...she said  [big grin]

Yes they are, JMB, but until very recently, we didn't have them.

One thing I find handy about the bed extensions that come with the crown stops is the upward-facing t-track. I use it a lot for clamping while they're hanging off the MFT/3. The old MFT's had a top t-track on the profiles, the MFT/3 doesn't. Switching the bed extensions to the MFT supplements the clamping possibilities.

Wow I was looking at the # on this review and has 155 comments and over 6200 views. That's pretty good.
I have been using it now for a while and really enjoy it especially easy set up and quick. Wheeling up the yard to set up area and knock down at end of day

Cus of my video you c.  [poke]

have been using the stand now for about a month.  here are some pictures showing how 1x12 fits on the stand.  I am building another built in and these were 8' and had to be trimmed to 75"  and I had to trim 6 boards all the same length.  so using the extend stop on the extension worked great for this.

after one month the stand is working out great for all types of projects I have done... just pull up to the job site set it on the ground from my van... and roll it up to wherever I am setting up.. add the wings and I am ready to. go all in less than 2-3 minutes.... (not counting walking up time to the set up spot)

so enjoy this up date and I will be doing up dates from time to time showing different things and how it works.  and I will be doing this until the end of time or I die.  lol [laughing]
