Reviews on the CXS

I have the CXS and it is a great little drill. Buy it if you want a versatile, compact drill. Don't buy it if you really need a hammer drill.

I bought the txs, with the 2.6ah batteries, i love the little thing, verry light, great trigger control and lasts for ages doing kitchens ect. I bought the t version just because its what im used to and prefered the feel.

Deffo recomend it though.

I have one for 'light' use/jobs (and a Makita 18v for heavy duty) and I quite like it. Also got some Centrotec stuff which seems to be quality.

But if I was to buy again I think I'd get a Metabo/Mafell 10,8v. Really compact, brushless, more power, also changeable off-set chuck, etc. etc.

I've had the cxs since it's release here in Canada, and have pushed and pushed this drill. I took it in for servicing recently but it still feels like it's lost its spunk. It's well outlasted any drill I've owned in it's class by 3 times over at least. To me, the ergonomics are perfect, I really don't see why anyone would opt for the txs instead. while I love this drill and my t 15, my biggest gripe is centrotec. The more stability claim is bunk as I've used very stable standard ball detent bits and chucks in the past and the difference between the two is price and availability. Long story short, the ergonomics and adaptability of the cxs are really something special. Downsides centrotec, and price. Now I'm not one to cheap out when it's the right tool for the job, but I mention price when there are less expensive drills in this class some with higher torque and longer lasting batteries. None with the same awesome ergonomics though.

I just received mine on Friday and used it for the first time today. It's a really nice light little package! I think this will be my go to drill for most jobs that just need screws or small pilot holes.

Had my CXS delivered last week, I was trying to put some 60mm screws into some CLS and it seemed to struggle lots, I know its only a small drill but was kinda hoping for more power... Is this normal??

Try it on speed 1 , should go in no problem.

Exactly this. :)

I do a lot of delicate screwdriving and I am currently assembling sixteen loudspeakers and the CXS is the perfect drill for this. Balance is near perfect, and so is control.  If I ever sober up from the Festool Koolaid and stop hoarding drills (...) I think I would get by with a CXS and the DRC18/4. And perhaps a C18. ;)

I'm delighted with the tool myself.  It's light, the centrotech technology provides an amazing amount of torque for such a small device.  What can I say, it's a cheerful and delightful tool to use.  When I need an impact driver (which isn't very often) I go for my 15v.  It's really a driver like none other.
