In the middle of this build I decided I needed to put some screws down through the top. About six inches to the ceiling. Popped the right angle chuck on ... no problem.  The alternative would have been a lot of maneuvering to tilt the unit down.

Fantastic!  [big grin] Cannot wait to get my collection of drills from festool  [thumbs up]

That chuck and the eccentric chuck have saved my butt a few times.
I'm a hobbyist building furniture, so it is all one off.  Have to confess that I have designed a couple of things where the last few bits to assemble were darned hard to get to, but there was always a way with the Festool chucks, especially with the CXS.

I was skeptical about the Festool drills for a long time, thought why pay big bucks for Festool when there is no dust collection involved?  Now I know! [big grin]

I remember my father having a "sawn off" stubby handled screwdriver in the 60's. A struggle to use, but the only option in it's day!  [smile]

Like Jesse said, the 90º and eccentric chuck are huge problem solvers.  I've used both chucks often for retrofits where I'm extending an existing piece of furniture

I too have a set of my dad's stubby's from years ago but the CXS right angle is the way to go. Love it.

The extra chucks are great. I had to sister some floor joists with some LVL and long screws. The void betwee the joists wasn't very wide. I had to pilot drill to put in the 6" SDS. I ended up cutting the 3/8" nut driver shank off so the output shaft was touching the socket.
Those chucks save me many times.

Somebody at JLC was asking me about the drills and we were discussing the RAC (sorry I talked to a lot of people , and forgot who it was)  [embarassed] .

In any case I am bumping this in hopes that  they see it.

used mine Wednesday had to drill 10mm holes for toilet cubicles pans were fitted slotted chuck on and away to go , otherwise would have had to risk tear out in Trespa @a few hundred pounds per panel [tongue]

No problem with the bit getting stuck?  Just the magnet holding it right?  No room for a jacobs chuck which is typical.  I've got the little Milwaukee adapter thing which works surprisingly well for driving.  Also it's almost as good as the eccentric chuck for that purpose.  But it's just the little stubby magnetic holder and sometimes a drill bit doesn't want to come back out.

Who would ever see that those screws were missing? ;)

The right-angle chuck is my favourite specialty chuck, by far.
