Router bit help

So I'm fairly new to routers. Ive always been a rough carpenter , but now I've been doing a lot more finish carpentry. I need a flush cut router bit that can cut 1/4 oak planks. All I've been able to find are flush cut bits for laminate.  Will that work without destroying the edge? Thanks for answering a dumb question.

Any bearing guided flush cut carbide bit will handle oak planks just fine.  I have had great success with Whiteside bits and they have a wide selection of lengths and diameters available.

Concur on Whiteside bits, and would add in Amana bits, as well.

As I needed it for a job today I went with a Diablo bit. Worked fine, I think the mistakes made were entirely new user error.  As I get deeper into woodworking I'll start investing in better bits.  Have a couple saved on Amazon

I wouldn’t panic. The Freud will cut just as cleanly as any Whiteside bit.  The Whiteside will keep it’s edge longer than Freud.  That’s the only major difference.  The Freud bits are top notch otherwise.

Infinity Tools has a straight bit cutting set that’s every bit as good as the Whiteside; you can buy their bits in kits saving huge money.  A of Infinity’s bits are made by Whiteside Eagle and several high end bit companies in Italy.  They make very top notch router bits.
