Looks like it's discontinued.

Anybody know if a replacement is expected?  Maybe with a plug-it this time?

Why not in NA?
In Europe we already have the successor RS 200 for more then 10 years.

Other than the plug-it cord, what exactly is the difference between the RS2 and the RS200?

For some reason half sheet sanders are just not as popular over here. Random orbits rule the day. I think the RS2E is one of Festool's hidden gems and I was sad when it was discontinued. Same as the RAS and DX93.

Absolutely nothing. Only the shell is cosmetically updated.

Is the RS 200 available for 120V power?

Nope, not right now. Maybe now that they've discontinued the RS2 they're working on a 120v version? Who knows what's in the pipeline.

Thanks for the clarification.  Actually been working all morning with the RS 2 keeping a slab flat while sanding.

I literally never used mine once.  I know there are fans out there and I get the economics behind punching out your own half sheets, alas, and again, not once.  Bosch and Makita still have half sheet sanders on the market and the Bosch is arguably better (only based on my booksmarts  and not my experience).

Interesting that the "new" RS 200 still has the old style flattened oval dust port.

I bought a Recon RS2E while I could get it, and it was much better than the rotex for sanding a slab-ish table top (42"x95") that I was working on, but I really do dislike the old style oval dustport.  I actually 3D-printed an adapter that goes from oval to round, which was better.  To be really happy with it, I would like to add the three notches for the cleantec hose (I don't think I even need to have them turn, just get a little bit more engagement).  Figuring out how to do the "hole" of the semi-circle precisely in Tinkercad is a distinct project though.
