Hi there, maybe I have missed it, but I could not find any information on the topic.

To my current knowledge, the „new“ cordless sanders do not work with the bluetooth remote for the CTs, right?

First big question would be: WHY? ;)

Next big question would be if anyone had a hint of new batteries coming for these tools?

I am contemplating adding an RTS/RTSC to my sander line up, but would be inclined to wait, if bluetooth becomes an option for the cordless line.
Dont really see a need for it now, but I also feel like it would be a waste to not have these units work on the new bluetooth ad-in for the CT-Vacs.

Any thoughts?

:)

The batteries that come with the cordless sanders are not Bluetooth-capable. No indications from Festool that Bluetooth versions of those batteries are in the works or coming at this time.

I can actually defend Festool on this one. The cordless function is intended for areas where it would be safer and more practical to use a dust bag and not a dust extractor (stories up on a ladder or scaffolding).  The run time is around 20-40
minutes, so you'd want to mostly use the mains adaptor, anyway.

Flex just released cordless polishers, and the fancy car detailers are all excited (contamination from the cord is always an issue in that field).  Meanwhile, the back of my head is thinking, "How many batteries would they need just for one vehicle?".  [scared]

The bluetooth is good for the saws, if someone needs a cordless but also
needs to sometimes work indoors.  It's good or worthless for the rotary hammer, depending on what method of dust extraction you're using.

Hi yetihunter,

I see your reasoning and also agree that the cordless use case would likely es with the bag attached.

But this would still be possible, regardless of Bluetooth support.

What is strange to me is the thought of limiting the tool to either battery with bag or cable and vac use. Especially since Festool should have known that they will release the Bluetooth vac attachment...

I’m not saying it would be used often, but I don’t understand not enabling the possibility that is there...

That question will only inevitably lead to another question....
Why did they release bluetooth batteries just after releasing
Airstream batteries?    [big grin]

I have the Festool Bluetooth remote for the CTL 25  … but for my MIDI I bought a $10 Bluetooth  power plug … plugged my MIDI into the socket and attached the remote to the hose using a Festool fastening strap … works exactly the same
