I love my festool sanders and tomorrow I have to do some sanding that I may not be able to use my CT extractor.  Never use my sanders without so my question is can I cause any damage etc to my festool sanders without using any extraction?  Yes I baby them that much...lol

Thank you

I would be more concerned with the potential damage you can cause to yourself, not using dust extraction.  At the very least, I would wear a mask of some sorts.

Oh I will have a mask...very tight quarters and the ct will take up room I don’t have

No damage to the sander will happen. People didn't care about dust extraction while sanding until the past decade or so.

I use the Festool dust bag on a Pro5 regularly. Most sanders now have impellers which move dust from the pad to the port. If you don't plan to use a vac, then have something where the dust pushed through the port can at least be collected, rubber banded paper bag will do.

If you do this more often, I think the sys vac may be just what you need.

I am curious as to what kind of tight quarters your project is in. Can a longer hose get you there?  If the spot is a few meters away, I might try and get a longer hose.

Cheers. Bryan.
