It's a combination tablesaw and mitersaw. Yeah, that's right, in the closed position it's a small tablesaw, but you can pivot the table with the blade up and use it as a miter/chop saw.

$300. 8&¼" blade.
 
Bosch also makes one of those that is available in Europe.
 
I had the Virutex model which was significantly more expensive. Great idea and implemented properly no less safe than any other saw, unfortunately it was pure garbage. So much slop in the mechanics, and the blade would bog down on the most trivial cuts. Ended up selling it for around a 1/3rd what I paid just to get rid of it. It made me regret selling my ELU TGS172 beforehand.

The SYS 50 with a much smaller blade and running on batteries has proven infinitely more capable.
 
Makita makes a version of this as well. IMO, Scary is an understatement
 
I don't understand the "scary" aspect as the two modes functions no different to a normal table or mitre saw, and has the usual guards and fence?

Crappy, flimsy, cheaply or poorly made, now that I get!
