Senco compressor in a systainer

I know a lot of you guys are workshop based so please ignore me
Do any site guys use a compressor like this in place of the 2nd fix paslode?
If so what are the pros/cons?
For me the tick of an air gun over the blast of the Paslode is ever so seductive
I also have a few questions ....
Would the 1010 run a bigger framing gun too?
Does the length/bore/quality of the airline have an effect on the guns? ( I get the impact for spraying etc but not sure on the guns)
Also I believe the Paslode shoots a 15ga nail can anyone recommend a gun capable of the same? For 90% of what we do on site a 18ga would not give enough hold
Many thanks

I use the senco pc1010 with 18 and 16g bostitch guns for second fixing. I don't do much on big sites these days just big one off houses. If on a big site it would be a pain with the hoses as we're not really set up for air in the UK. Other trades tend to tread all over the hoses.

It's great on my sort of work though and much better than any cordless guns. It wouldn't run much above the 16g but I have a couple of bigger compressors for bigger stuff.

The paslode is 16g not 15g

Slightly off topic but still relevant.
For those who need a 2nd fix 16 g nailer and don't want to be messing around with a compressor, I can highly recommend the new Dewalt DCN660, brushless cordless 16g nailer. Costs about the same as the compressor in a systainer.

I don't know if it will help, but I can take a recording of the Schneider compressor it really isn't that loud. Much faster in between charges and the initial charge up. I think it's great. Doubt I'll get the pc1010 fixed. Senco wanted £85+vat!

I would like to see the schneider compressed in action [member=22883]Mahomo59[/member]

Where did you buy it from? I was tempted by the recent Amazon uk 4 for 3 offer, but didn't go for it and still don't know enough about it to part with my cash!

Ok I'll get on it, away from WS at the minute (long weekend). I bought mine from Amazon with recent four for three deal.

Have you got an iphone, and can you download a Decibel app and show us the results maybe. Be interested to know.

I've done this with Lambretta exhausts to do noise comparisons and it's quite interesting (to me anyway).

Many thanks

The Schneider compressor looks really nice. Has anyone modified this compressor with noise reduction? It looks like it would be possible to add noise reduction plates to both the compressor and inside of systainer.

Regarding the size and specifications. Would this compressor also work with larger nailers or is it primarily for use with 16-18ga?

[member=2775]Warren[/member] do you have the compressor sys in stock or is it just the pc1010

Hi [member=18793]Nippychippy[/member]

We have the basic compressor in a systainer in 110v in stock, not the flashy one with the gauges on the front.

Best regards

Warren

Sorry to resurrect a beat to death old thread but I just got a pc1010 and I'm getting ready to cut the handle off to put in a Sys 4 ,  it seems like it's still gonna be too wide with that metal plate, or at least rub front to back has anyone experienced a cracked systainer over this tight squeeze or am I just being paranoid
[dead horse]

I put my 1010 in a syst V sideways by just taking the front rubber feet off.  I take it out and reinstall the feet to use it.  I replaced the lid with a lid top that I bought from Lee Valley in order to store my accessories.

And you did cut the roll cage off for width purposes I assume , I'm starting to wonder if they redesigned this compressor?
The front to back width is the exact dimension as the interior of the systainer??

The one I have fits in perfectly without the front feet off.  I have had it for quite some time.

OK now I think I've got it, I've never noticed that the compressor has to lay on its back.. [thumbs up]

I have mine sitting correct side up. I did cut away some of the vertical ribs on the inside front and back to help with the bulging. I've been using it for over a year now without any issues.

In regards to a new model I did see a redesigned unit at HD recently. They added an "N" to the model number. Its now the PC1010N. The coupling and gauges are mounted on a front panel similar to the Rolair air buddy. I'm not sure if the new model is systainer friendly or not.

OK cool , thanks Bbuilder in still have to just cut the handle yet so when I do I'll have more freedom to play around, I was thinking rather than shave anything off the systainer I may try to cut a couple v notches in the rear metal plate..
If anything senco should make their compressor more systainer friendly than not, I can't imagine how many they've sold just from these FOG threads alone...
