Do a search for "woodworking wizard" here. Ian (RIP) was a genius at coming up with making stuff like squares. If i remember correctly he did make some pretty cool squares.... It was sometime ago but the post should still be accessible

quick update

its starting to get hot here in Az.

Its going to be 106 today.

So I moved all my batteries inside the house (even though the insulation and paneling make the shop alot cooler).

The will ruin batteries.
So for fathers day I ax the kids to get me a small fridge for the shop.

I can store my batteries in it along with some drinks (hydrate hydrate hydrate) over the summer.
maybe put my glue bottle in it to.

heat has a adverse affect on titebond.

looking at a swamp cooler to cool the shop down

Did you consider a mini split? It's a very affordable option, I went for a Pioneer Mini Split that's awesome   106 is insanely hot lol

Ron - stick a mini split in there. Most of them can be installed DIY. they have kits with pre-charged line sets.

You can sometimes find a HVAC guy that will out and check your install and charge the system for you.

Nothing special, but I have a new addition to the shop today. My girls gave it to me for fathers day (They ax what I wanted and I told them)

seeing hows it 109 today and expected up to 115 next week the Az summer is upon us.

Hear can litterally mess batteries up and we all know they arent cheap.

So I had my girls get me this 3.3 uft fridge. It sits nicely on a work table.

I just plugged it in this morning and put the batteries in . What a relief having the ability to keep batteries in the shop again.

I do know that heat affects battery life.

No, that's why I asked. I have not looked but there may be some recommendation in the manual for an acceptable storage temperature range for batteries.

Just as a guess I would say what's comfortable for us Humans.

So I would hazard a guess and say set the fridge to the highest setting you can to save energy and still keep the batteries cool.

Unless you plan to use it to keep drinks cool too but too cold is probably as bad for batteries as too hot.

So looks like 59°F(15°C) is the place to be but they recommend following the manufacturers guidelines of course.

From a Festool cordless tool manual. I would imagine they all read about the same.

"Store in a cool, dry place at a temperature between 5 °C and 25 °C."

Thanks its going to be 115 today and most of the week so the firidge is kept at #4 Im going out there soon add some drinks.

Got to really hydrate in this weather. I still woodowrk but take my time work until the heat gets to me then in the house and chill. Maybe go to a mall walk around to get out of the house a bit

So basically you need a wine fridge and you can store all of your red wine right next to the batteries! 55 degrees Fahrenheit is perfect for both !

Install a stand alone solar system just big enough to power only a small mini-split AC unit.
Don't tie it into the house or the grid.
Works only when the sun shines but for you that most of the day all year long.
