Below are photos of how my shop is today.

I have been putting off building some cabinets but now is the time.  The ultimate goal is to build cabinets along the wall where my mini split, bench (which I will replace with this new one) and large pirate flag are.  The plan is to build a workbench that is 2 systainers deep and 3 systainers across all on full extension sliders.  The top is just going to be basic with a 1/4 inch hardwood for easy replacement.  Once this is done I want to build in a cabinet that will hold my current miter saw (wish list is a Kapex in the future) and allow a fein dust extractor I have sit underneath just for the miter saw.  After that another 2 or 3 systainer across bench for drawers, sustainers and various storage.  Any thoughts?

I got a kick from the mass quantity of irony in the assortment of brand names on display.
I remember the old saying; "Do as I say, not as I do." so I'll leave it at that.

Hello,

If I were planning on doing something like you're describing, I would follow along with the example built by FOG member Tim Wilmots.  It's hard to imagine how his plan could lack anything anyone  would want.  Have you seen his "shop build" videos on Youtube?

Unrelated to your question: what's the capacity and brand for your mini-split? I just bought a Mitsubishi  system and hope to install it within  the next week or two.  Your garage looks about the same size as mine.

Michael ...

[smile]. Yeah it is a wide variety of brands.  Started about 4 years ago in a 1 car garage and just bought what I could best afford.  I like most of the equipment with the exception of the table saw.  However, haven't used that in getting close to 2 years since I got the track saw.

Ron Z ...

It is a Fujitsu Halycon 1.5 Ton 18,000 BTU  mini split.  First thing I put in the garage after buying the house.  It has been great for the 2 car garage.  Glad I got it when I did as if I had waited may had spend the money on tools and would not be able to play in the garage in the heat and cold.

hi, noticed your woodpeckers drill press table.  I believe my porter cable drill press is the very same but couldn't seem to properly mount the woodpeckers onto the round cast iron table that comes standard.  info?

It has been awhile but I think the easiest way is to use a piece of 3/4 ply - attach that to the drill press and then attach the Woodpecker to the 3/4 piece of ply.View attachment 1View attachment 2
