The OF1400 router uses two steel rods attached to the base to connect it to the guide rail or to mount a parallel guide or a dust extractor that can be used with the VS600.  I wish they came in a shorter version, too.  The current ones are awkward when used with he VS600 and the dust extractor.

Yeah, I know, I could buy a second pair and hacksaw them down, but I'm lazy and busy (bad combination ::).

Jesse,

How short do you want them? Odds are the next guy will want another inch more than you. ;D ;D ;D

I always have 1/4" rod lying around, and if you're really lazy you could break out the angle iron, but even a hacksaw will take that apart in less time than it took you to type that query, and 1/4" rod is a little small, but should still work with everything.
