Sig hiding or length limit

Excellent tip, Alex!

This thread has me thinking to change my sig to the ASCII art of each of the Festools I own

Guess I am missing something as I have my tools listed but I don't see them on my posts or replies?

I was just about to start a thread on this exact same subject, ironically it is your signature that was prompting me to start the thread. It's way too long & annoying  [cool]

I guess everyone has there own pet peaves - sorry my sig line is such an issue - I will be happy to change it

If you follow these steps you will no longer have to see Sig Lines - Perfect Solution

AlexMan to the rescue!  [big grin]

It is perfectly possible to hide sigs. I hate them too, it's useless clutter.

In your forum profile there's the option to disable them.

1 - Go to the top of the page and hover your mouse over the "Profile" button.
2 - A popup wil appear, click on "Account Settings". The page opens.
3 - On top of the page there are two grey buttons. Hover your mouse over the "Modify Profile" button.
4 - A popup wil appear, click on "Look And Layout"
5 - Scroll down the list and you'll find the option "Don't show users' signatures."
6 - Check it and then go all the way down to the bottom right corner and click the "Change Profile" button. Done.

Alex thank you.  [smile]

Zachary, thank you for considering your changes. Just to let you know that you are not the only one; there is one nearly double the length of yours.

edit. Thanks to Alex (and Shane) they are g o n e!

You are welcome guys.  [cool]

It is one of those things you learn as a Windows user, if there is something you don't like, check every menu option you can find to see what's hidden underneath. Sometimes you find very useful things in places you didn't expect, which can greatly enhance your experience.

I'd encourage all of you to check out the other options of the forum, under your profile, there are many ways to customise it to your own liking. There is a lot of functionality in the software, but you have to look around a bit to find it.

So much cleaner now - a thousand thanks Alex !

Hi guys. This is my first post but I have been hanging around for a while. I fully agree that long sigs are annoying but the option for getting rid of them does not appear to be available to me. I followed the instructions but under "modify profile" the only option is "account settings". What can I try next?

[welcome]

Try right clicking on profile and opening it in a new tab - should work.

I'm torn... I have learned of several wonderful blogs and other great resources in the sigs, but I'm also tired of sigs that are 10x longer than the post.

It would be nice to put a 4 line limit on it. Or an option to only show the first 4 lines in the profile settings?

Just my opinion  [2cents] .I don't dislike the signatures .i think I've said this before Im interested in what combinations of tools different People have bought

Maybe I'll start a new topic were everyone can list there tools and get it off there chest lol .then no need for long signatures

Thanks Alex.  I just fixed my preferences.  Some of those signature lines were really getting annoyingly long.
