Can any body recommend a simple to use photo editing software. Preferably free. Just want to do some simple editing of photos to post here

Irfanview is free and easy.  It doesn't have a lot of complex capabilities but it's great for resizing images and such.

I'm another Irfanview user.  Do a search on Youtube for some tutorials and you'll be able to resize photos in no time.
