Slides and Dimensions for Systainer Drawers?

I'm currently building a mobile base which will have sysport-type drawers, and I have a couple of questions.

Firstly on the slides - I've pretty much decided on the type of slides I'm going to use, but not where from. I found info on the Accuride 3832 Range. These slides are around £13-14/pair here in the UK. I've also found these cheaper ones for around half the price. They're obviously cheap rip-offs of the Accurides.

I'm a great believer that 'you get what you pay for', but for a sysport drawer that's likely to hold at most 10kg (they're both rated 45kg) would you really notice the difference in quality?

Secondly, I'm planning on constructing the pull-outs from 12mm MDF, with 24x8mm softwood edging all round. The internal dimensions are 396x297mm, into which the classic systainers will fit quite snuggly:

My question is, will the T-Loc systainers fit in this too? I don't want to build these & then find out in a few months that the newer systainers won't fit because they're a mm bigger...

the tloc fits on top of the classic. i would think that it is a few mm smaller as the t loc isnt a tight fit when joined to the classic.
i should fit

this is a good excuse to buy a new t loc [thumbs up]

Yeah, that's what I figured, it should fit. I just want to make certain! [tongue]

It is, but although I want one, I don't need one. And money is very, very tight at the moment...

Jonny,

I just replaced a systainer in my sysport with a t-loc and the dimensions are almost identical, certainly for the length and width and I think the height as well but I am not 100% sure.

As for the slides, I used the same ones- medium-duty, full extension accurides. 14" is the right size to use for a systainer. It leaves under an inch behind and in front so you can add a drawer pull.

Richard.
