I really can't say enough about this saw.  It cuts perfectly right out of the box.  And I mean perfect.  Such a huge step up from my old dewalt 12".  The laser is well thought out, there is very little side play in the saw blade,  the GIGANTIC bevel gauge.  The only flaw is the dust shroud will hit the fence if you don't move it on angled cuts, but that's a simple fix anyway......hardly even worth mentioning.  I'm a professional installer.  I've used dewalt, bosch, makita, hitachi.....they just simply aren't in the same league as this saw.  The accuracy sets it apart, as does the dust collection.  Cutting MDF and can't even SMELL the dust!!!  I was blown away!  5 out of 5! How deep can the "trenching" go? I need to do about 25 big posts for a deck and would like to trench each post. I need at least 20mm (1inch approx) out for rails to insert into, as well as that I need to cut out a portion of each post at the bottom to bolt to the face of the deck boundary. preferably a good 30-40mm cut out would be good. Can it do this? It a pain doing this with my old circular saw and not as accurate and clean as I would like. (Thats my fault though), and chiselling takes so long on so many. If the kapex can do this I'll be very interested.

The limit is not the depth but the height, the depth stop is quite accurate but the problem is the limited height. I think you can lift the blade with the stop somewhere around 30-40mm above the cutting surface max. So if your post is like 95mm thick, then you can't take out a 20 or 40mm trench using the depth stop. Maybe there are other ways i haven't been informed of, but so far that is the one negative point of the kapex.
When trenching with the Kapex you also need to put a distancer block of at least 40-50mm wide between the fence and the workpiece because the blade doesn't slide back far enough to clear the back of the trench.

Hmm, thanks for that info, I've got 90x90mm square posts that I want to cut 20mm trenches in 2 sides for fitting rails. It appears then that the kapex may not be able to do this as the posts are too big. Damn I have quite a few to be done. Looks like I'll continue on doing them with the circular saw. Now I have to to find another excuse to get the kapex! ;D

Mine was perfect out of the box too.  I had to tweak the miter a tiny bit after about a year.  The bevel has never needed adjustment.  It's my workhorse, I crosscut everything on it that will fit from case parts to faceframe door and drawer parts.  I've had it right at two years now.
