Sortainer/Systainer stacks at central base

I'm thinking out my tool organization project. I store the tools in my home and move them out to my various job places I as of now have  7 or 8..places spread around the town. [eek] So it just does not make sense to leave any of my gear on site, it returns every night to home base. Now Home base is a relatively small area, so the compact nature of the Sortainer and systainer are super practical.

My super compact stack setup x2 ends up looking like this from bottom to top: Sys cart, Sortainer Sys 3 sort 4,  Sys 3 Sort 6, Sys 4 Sort 3, Sys 4 with homemade insert for hand tools, Sys 1 Box. The Power Tools that are in Sys 2 or 3 will be on shelving directly above these two stacks. not higher than easy arm reach. The bigger tools like the TS 75, my coming DF 700 and OF 2200 will be in another two stacks on 2 Sys Rolls..

I've got a little over half of the Sortainer Systainer organising elements now, so to complete that part of it I'll need to buy 2x Sort 6 1X Sort 4 one more Sys 4 Sort 3, Systainer Box.

I love getting things organised now after a few years now of building up my tool arsenal.. I'll likely get the Sys 2 Combi and use it as  a current use box where I'll switch in whatever powertool and accessories I need for the days work..

I don't like to think about how much all this ends up costing, but I've already just yesterday appreciated the increased speed at which I can get everything together and get out the door..

Another thing I appreciate is because of the neutral look and feel of the Systainers/Sortainers I don't feel the need to hide them behind any extra doors which is a space saver too..

I'll just need a little wall space additionally to handle any longer elements like Tracks, Levels etc..

I'm now the proud owner of the stacks described in the original post. And I do love the organisation it offers..

This is exactly how I feel when I read thru the thread on capturing streaming videos with self designed routers, hard drives,  video this and that, all screwed to the broom closet wall.  [huh]

Long stories and many words to describe your plans, but can you post some pictures of your stuff?

My thought too:) Come on, show us:)

I'm in a huge overload of work which is finally winding down.

My stacks are getting organised towards the end of the coming week. Then I'll have a photo session... I'm getting some things delivered to put in them  mid week sortainers need things to weel sort, good things..

I'll get started on the inserts for the Systainer 4 actually tomorrow.. I'm thinking of breaking the inserts up into two sections for flexibility...

The new tloc sortainers are great, keeps you very organised. I have done what you're proposing. Invest in some adapt L brackets as well, to increase their versatility. Just be warned they are verrrrry heavy when full

Looking good, though perilously highly stacked! You are right the full stortainers get very heavy..The Sys Carts are essential..

I'd rather keep the power tool systainers  on a home made sys port. too bad they don't make a Sys Roll in a Sys port configuration.

You are so right about this!! Getting things from the car to a customers house is one thing, but how about organization on the worksite? The sys-roll is just a stack, wanna have the bottom systainer.. well.. take it apart. Haven´t quite figured out the end result yet, but my mind wonders around different options of a sys-roll / sysport combo (with "MFT-style" top). Hopefully I start "playing" with the first one in a couple of weeks. I will post If/when I´m pleased with the result.

You could use a MFTC without the top.  That's essentially the same as a sys cart with individually accessible drawers/systainers.  If you didn't need the top, you wouldn't be constrained to keeping it shorter than standard work surface heights.  Here's a picture of a fellow FOGer's -
