Hey Jory, who brought all the festools?
I know you like em and Freddy, but was there a list of tools that everyone can ask for? Or do the contestants bring there own tools?

Chuck,

Festool was asked to be part of the show in a non-paid capacity, as many of the contestants like working with our tools.  We provided the tools for use by the contestants.

Shane

So is there going to be a Festool Framework sale when the show is over?  Did you also supply for Ellen's Design Challenge?

Bryan, I'm not sure what happened with the tools when the show was finished being produced. But, I believe it has already wrapped.

Yes, we supplied tools for the Ellen's Design Challenge show as well.

Shane,

Please don't forget to put up the latest Ellen's show here when it's available. Thanks!  Wish you could do the same for Framework.

Cheers,

Frank

thanks Shane,
So answer this if you will, did they/you pick every item from the catalogue,or did the participants get to choose?
Festool is getting a lot of time on the show, but I think you have to know what your looking at to know what tool it is.
Thanks,chuck

Next week on Frameworks should be cool!  With an odd number of contestants it would seem that there won't be teams.  Happy Dance!

I saw a preview that shows that it WILL be individual, but each contestant will have a seasoned lumberjack working with them. This sorta rings of Ellen's assistants.  Nonetheless, it should be great, but the guy who primarily works with metal is in deep trouble I think.

Man... that was a nice wardrobe Jory built, despite the mistakes caused by his partner this week.  Even at 58 years old, I'd give up six months of my normal occupation to work with him and learn!

Cheers,

Frank

Jory- great job on Framework!  I see that next week's episode has Thom Jones as a judge.  Did you two know each other prior to the show?  A lot of his furniture looks very similar to yours.  I think your collections are more creative than his but you two are definitely on the same page.  Keep up the great work!

Jory's piece was the most successful again for sure.

I wasn't sure if BK was playing slow-man to maintain his TV persona at this point, but I'm glad that I don't have to listen to his excuses anymore.

Jory's wardrobe was by far my most favorite piece so far. Nice job Jory!

I can't believe the rookie mistakes made by BK. Its almost hard to believe this guy is a professional woodworker. The wood dowel was an 1 1/2" off?? It might as well been a mile off. I'm an amateur and even I measure to the 32nd. And it looked like the bottom panel of the base was cut slightly shorter than the top panel causing those gaps on the top miters. BK said he took a shortcut but not making sure the top and bottom panel are the same length only saves you minutes but causes hours of headaches. BK earned his departure.

I'm not sure what he meant by saying he was trying to save time by taking a shortcut when making that base? Either way, you should all be glad he fessed up to it, otherwise this forum would be filled with questions like, did that TS75 not hold the bevel angle properly?!  [blink] [scared]

Jory,
I just watched the episode that paired you and BK.  Wow, along with a bunch of others here (and certainly a huge number of viewers) I feel your pain!  I am not sure how he made it as far as he did on the show with his apparent disregard for basic tasks like measuring and cutting a part properly.

I will give him credit for admitting he was the problem, and to the judges for taking this into consideration in their evaluation.  And congratulations for winning, the piece you did was really spectacular -- even with a few flaws that BK included.

Heads up - Ellen's Design Challenge new episode on tonight in about 15 minutes here on the east coast.

Peter

Don't know about you guys, but I'm looking forward to the throw down tonight on Framework. Can't wait to see what the makers create out of huge chucks of tree trunk.  [thumbs up]

Hmmmm.  Wasn't the first Festo a chainsaw?  Interesting challenge so far.
