Split Top Roubo Bench Build

It could also be a charity fundraiser with, say, a $20 entry fee going to a worthwhile charity....

How Cool is That?  !!!!

Tom,
Thinking again....  You would need to make a 2 lane track and something to time the runs.  The sweet 16 goes head-to-head.
You realize return shipping would be a nightmare.  But could be overcome.  Perhaps a trip to TX would be in the stars for me.  Spend the day after the race shipping the cars back.

There appears to be a lot of folks reading this thread... please chime in with your ideas. Also, someone tell me how to post one of those polls.  If interest looks promising Tom or I will start a new thread.

You could bring your new bench as a foundation for the tracks...

It’s not a coincidence theTom wants to host the Pinewood Derby charity fundraising event.

If you’ve ordered your Festool or other great tools from Tom you know that he’s an Old School, salt-of-the-earth (maybe pepper) guy.  He’ll spend A LONG TIME following up on any questions you might have.

I suspect the reason that he jumped on the idea is because he needs a distraction.  From what?

All I can do is say it.  Stage 4 Bone Cancer.  He’s known for about a month.  I’m pasting a quote from his email to me where he gave me the news to share his perspective.

“Incidentally, I found out on my B'day (end of March) that I have serious carcinoma, and a week later, that I am stage 4. Apparently, I'm riddled with bone cancer aside from the original problem(s). I don't know if I told you that but it should not make a difference in how we interact. I will make every effort to be professional and friendly.”

There you have it “Professional and Friendly”.  Pure Tom.

So I’m going to start a Pinewood Derby Fundraising thread.  I’ve asked Tom to let me know the charity.  I’m calling out all FOG’rs to put your Noggin on this so the event can be fun and a success.

Tom wants "Business as Usual" so that's just what will happen in this thread.

Tom,
Here ya go....

Ok, I finished all the dogs.  I'm going to up my grade due to extra credit to a B.  I think the end cap is next.

Done.
To spec.
Only one ding.  I hate it when the turret decides to move to the middle.
