Does anyone have any experience with spraying Osmo Poly X as opposed to brushing it?

Thanks.

Hi Lock

I have sent an email to my contact at Osmo UK and will let you know when he responds.

Technically I can't see a problem but maybe the brushing helps eliminate any miniscule air bubbles that could be trapped underneath. When we have done large areas of flooring my brother used a scraper (as a spreader) and a brush for cutting in. But I think that it was far too easy to put too much on that way and so I prefer the brush.

Thanks Peter!

I guess my main concern is if spraying would promote the oil to sit on top of the surface as opposed to being encouraged to sink in and penetrate when compared with brushing...

Thanks

Lock.

I think that would be my worry too. I have this idea that oil needs to be "pushed" into the grain to clear any trapped air or whatever.

I will let you know as soon as Osmo reply.

I have just had this reply from Osmo...

"Thank you for your enquiry

The original Polyx-Oil cannot be sprayed although we have a version of this product especially developed for spray application, Osmo Spray Wax.

Please find attached for further information on this product."

The attachment is a pdf which I have attached to this post.

Hi Peter

Many thanks for the prompt assistance.  The project involves exterior doors and so the spray wax wouldn't be suitable. However at least I now can just crack on with applying the 420 Extra by brush and not waste any time trying to spray it!

Thanks again!

I'd have been worried about cleaning up the kit (and anything within a 1 mile radius) afterwards too, but I'm rubbish at spraying.
