Stained cherry cabinet finish question?? Poly, varnish, # of coats etc?

I am a newbie to stain grade woodwork, I am building an island with the many Festools I have bought thru reading this forum.  I have built cherry cabinets and stained them with a Zar oil based stain.  Now, should I use poly? number of coats?  Thanks for your help in advance

Use the Zar oil modified poly. 2-3 coats.

Strange how that goes.

They should be able to get it in a wipe on. I don't think the OP has any spray equipment.
