i am new to this and am in the process of refinishing a dining room table. I have a white oak table that I have stripped, sanded and stained. Can I use surfix instead of polyurethane to finish and if so which one should I use.

I have not used Surfix over a stain yet. I believe the Festool recommendation is over bare wood.

Use the heavy duty.

I'd use the  indoor heavy  one

I have tested both indoor versions side by side and can't tell the difference

The One Step contains wax, the Heavy Duty does not.

I have used hwo quite a bit on floors. As long as the stain is dry, your good to go!
