I have bought a few systainers to switch out my non festool tools from their existing toolboxes and to make life easier for transport and storage.

first cab off the rank, 18v LXT drill & impact driver, in a systainer 3

took way too long to do, however it came up great. The foam works well.

First, [welcome] to the FOG!

Nice job on the foam. I need to get going on that for my M12 tools.

And what is your systainer count right now? We might have to start a friendly betting pool on how many you will have by year end!

[wink]

Thanks for posting, and keep the pictures and projects coming!

Thanks for the welcome.

so far,

sys4 with the festool of1400 router in it, 2 empty sys4's, 1 sys1 with the coloured screw boxes, and 1 sys3 thats in the pic

well, 5 festool systaners, and a blue classic sys4 systainer that came with the M tracksaw.

one of the empty sys4's is being setup for my cordless dewalt D618k nail gun, and the other empty sys4 will have a hand tool caddy built for it.

plans are to buy the sysroll next, and then add to the collection with some more sys2's and sys3's

the sys1 screwbox is a cracker, and i plan to get another one of those.

Great to have another Oz member.  I have started putting non Festool power tools and hand tools into Systainers - it really helps workshop organisation.  What type of foam are you using?

38mm foam used for tool shadowing. a company near work cnc routes the inserts for the airforce tool boxes and has offcuts going cheap. I stuffed up the first one i did, however it worked out better in the long run as i was trying to make it too complicated.

I have a Lid Lable being laminated much like the festool lid lables showing the layout of the tools inside. probably going too far, but hey, why not, it will look shmick

Thanks Pitto - sounds like you have a good source for the foam.
To make cutting the foam inserts easier, I made a template out of plywood.  This works well.

I like the picture showing you where stuff goes! You could send a novice or 'gopher' to the box to put stuff away and they'd be able to do it.

I may need to steal this idea. Thanks!

[thumbs up]

Nice work. You could up the game in using dark grey Tanos systainer for your Non-Festool stuff and create your own labels. Not sure how bad your OCD is.... [smile]

Hi Pitto,

Welcome to the forum!  [smile]

Nice job on the Systainer! I like your completest tendency with the lid picture.  [thumbs up]

    Do you have others planned?

Seth

Thanks for ghe feedback.

No luck with going the anthracite as it would mean importing them from the states or europe which would throw the cost up higher. I am happy with the festool ones. But am contemplating on buying orange t lock handles to fit with my company logo (probably cheaper to change my logo colours :-p.  )

The next one is for my dewalt dc618 nailgun. Plan to do that one this weekend. Its more involved as it only fits in  sys4 leaning over. Still will look a heap better tgan the stock box it comes in.

Been Busy today, Just need to run the laminated lid lable and redo the front lable and its done.

same foam as the makita, only routered in the charger, battery and nail box holder. padded the side walls out with some yellow foam patches, it fits with the battery attached, i found this out after routering in the battery, and looks funny with no battery in its place.

i used them on a job the other day, remarkable how a simple plastic box makes it so quick and easy to get in and out of a jobsite.

the other sys 4 i bought has got the rest of my makita lxt gear in it and looks "clunky" its only temporary until i can get some more cashflow in and i can place another order with festool.

My next project will be a sys4 with a hand tool insert much like Timothy Wilmots setup.
