Not very practical as then you cannot take the systainer away /cannot grab the handle/ without putting back the catch .. but yeah, it is a kind of a workaround .. and I actually did this .. then grew tired of it and around the same time got almost an orgasm when there was a great deal on MAXI IIIs .. so got a bunch to replace about 10 of my T-Locs /repurposed, not thrown-out/ for most go-to stuff. Being 40 cm deep it helps with space utilisation too.You can just pop the T off and then clearance in a drawer is just as good as the Classic Sys.
When I get to redo the small parts storage, will quite likely go with the Makita variety though. They ARE fugly, I just hate the color, but, the Classic SYS1 assortment boxes /still available here/ are really expensive these days, like twice the Makita cost.
/Context: my "small parts" storage capacity to renew/standardise is the equivalent of about 20 SYS orgs, so no small change./
