Hey guys,

I've been debating to get 1 (perhaps 2) SYS 4 TL-SORT/3's, primarily for hand tools,

Just wondering if anyone has purchased some for this use, and if so, pictures would be greatly accepted!  [thumbs up]

I have and I love it. I normally have a 3 or 4 systainer stack with a cordless impact set  on top and the toolbox on top of that. Now its a breeze to access my hand tools!

Looks great!

really like the idea of using it with my Sys Roll, would make organisation so much easier, tried toolboxes, toolchest, Totes etc but there's always something I don't like about it.. seems like this may be an option!

Looking forward to seeing other photos ;)

My biggest complaint about my stack.  Need to access the bottom box and you unstack just for maybe pliers...

Exactly the reason i'm looking to purchase one!

View attachment 1View attachment 2View attachment 3Im using one for my decorating tools. Sits on top of my CTL midi. So easy to get a tool out, use it and pop it back. i had a thought today to build a 'shelf' that will clip on top to hold lose bits, tea, biscuits, phone etc. Will take a photo tomorrow.

Just purchased some fittings off eBay to fit my shelf to the top of the systainer.View attachment 4

Hey [member=47193]WelshWood[/member] .
I have one that I use for hand tools. I had the same though as you - and the point about stacking/unstacking is really the key benefit. Also, the quality of the new Sys 4 TL-SORT/3 drawers - the click they make when you close them - brings a smile to my face every time I use them (which is all the time!).

I still need to organize the tools even more, maybe with some foam inserts - but as it is now, it is a vast improvement on my previous sys-2 that I used for hand tools.

The second drawer is sort of a test drawer right now. I plan on using a complete Sys 4 TL-SORT/3 for fasteners, plugs etc. - and use this one exclusively for hand tools.

[member=1567]Curt Boyer[/member] - it's pretty heavy. Definitely my heaviest Systainer - I would guess around 15-20 kgs (35-45 lbs). But that being said - I can easily carry it, especially with a counter-load in the other hand.

The drawers work so well that the weight is no problem. And - a handtool insert type Sys-4 would weigh around the same.

This is what I've done as well, 3 x sys4/sort3 on a sys roll cart. Almost renders the sys4/5 tool insert obsolete really.

I have questioned my dealer several times.  The first time he had no idea what I was talking about.  Then the Vac Sys announcement came.  I asked again last week (I figured it was worth a shot considering the new tool in March) and he told me to be patient (I had mentioned possibly trying to get one imported).  He knew more than he could share which leads me to think sometime this year, but who knows.

Does any FOG member in the UK know any Festool dealers that would ship one to the USA to an English guy that now lives in South Florida?
Happy to pay all shipping costs, etc.
Please let me know the stores details if possible so I can contact them directly!!

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration!
Kevin

I would definitely buy one for my hand tools! This is exactly what I need [eek]

I can't say enough about it. All my tools are now in 3 stacks and ready for my move. The sys4sort3 was worth every penny, but I'll wait 'till they come out in the US to get more.
