I got one today..Neat little speaker as far as size but I am still dubious on the sound of it. Sounds a little thin, bass leaves alot to be desired, it's a little punchy but lacks bass. Maybe it will open up as it's used and burns in. But overall first day on the job having second thoughts.

Anyone pick one up and give it a listen? I know it's only been a few days but would love to hear from others who have one. Battery life seems good, although the radio becomes this wacky shape once you put a 5.2AH on it but seems to last while. Cord seems like it wouldn't be too durable in a construction setting.

Look at what Bose has to offer.  The sound has been excellent for us.  I guess if you are heavy into one battery platform, but I was interested in the sound quality only.  Many decent ruggedized units out there, just not much from tool manufacturers IMHO.

We have too many chargers and USB connectors in our stuff.  So, we just have to deal with it.  One example is the little LED rechargeable lights that we are using onsite.  They are by Astro Pneumatic, an Automotive tool Manufacturer made in Taiwan of course.

Full discloser- have not bothered to listen to the Sysrock..... [tongue]

I picked one up.  It doesn't get as good of FM reception as my Milwaukee M12.  As far as Bass, not my thing.  My wife, kids, and employees are always turning up the bass in the truck.  Knock that S off! [big grin]

It is loud though.  And the battery I had, was a freebie from the roadshow last year.  I have never used it until I put it in the Sys-Rock.  It showed one bar, and played for two work days on the jobsite.  That was impressive.  I was hoping this would be my new shop radio, but my station is scratchy in the shop, so it will be the jobsite radio.

Ya I'm not that impressed, FM reception is so-so, sound quality is just ok, rather underimpressed with the whole experience. The only silver lining is the Bluetooth, that works well.

The power line cord is rather small and flimsy and will probably not survive many weeks on the job.

No internal battery and once the external battery is attached, the hook goes bye, bye.

Bottom line...underwhelmed.  [sad]

Hey, guys.

At least, it may be the cheapest thing from Festool that you have purchased?  Hello, classifieds.

Ok, trying to put a positive spin on this...the SysRock will replace the Giganto Milwaukee Ghetto Blaster that resides down stairs. That'll save probably close to 2 cubic feet.  [tongue] [tongue] [tongue]

If things go well, then maybe I'll also offload the Giganto Milwaukee Ghetto Blaster in the garage and replace it with a SysRock. The sound quality will be the determining factor. Yawn...

I don't think I've listened to the radio in 20 years so I am thoroughly confused by this product's existence. I saw one at my local dealer when I was buying something else and it looked like it could take a beating, but why it's worth money, I have no clue.

Listen to the radio on the jobsite every day.  I've never used Bluetooth in my life.  Don't know why it's a thing. [smile]

I use a cheap MP3 player with an Aux cord quite a bit though.  I really wish they would put a USB or SD slot in a Jobsite radio.  So much simpler than the Bluetooth hookup and wearing down your phone battery.

I was planning to buy the Giganto Milwaukee for my shop, put that on hold when I heard the Sysrock was coming out.  Plans change.  The sysrock will be good for the Jobsite because of the battery life. And I'll still get the Giganto Ghetto blast Milwaukee for the shop.

I agree..I have the giganto Bosch radio and the two things I like about the sys rock is the size which makes it super portable, and the battery life is great. I've had it going a full 24 hours and it's still at 2 bars in the battery meter, and I played it loud too. I also like the quality feel of it, feels like it will last even if abused a little.

Im in a weird spot with this thing where there is part of me that wants to keep it, but the Bosch Giganto serves a solid purpose and has the plugs, which I do use a lot on the job site. But no BT (although it has the headphone jack I use for my phone content/streaming) and it's huge.

I am going to keep listening to it and see if the sound improves, figure I have 30 days.

Just curious, do cone speakers burn in? We used to burn-in "fresh/new" speakers in the 1970's but they were always electrostatic speakers not coned ones.

Yes, the crossovers on most speakers experience a burn in. Makes more impact of speakers of actual quality, but cones do take some time to burn in for sure. I don't expect this thing will make leaps into better bass over time.

I am almost feeling I just get a regular BT speaker rather than the sysrock- JBL Charge3 for example. It's ruggedized and battery life is supposed to be really long and sounds good. too.

I put a 5.2 amp battery on it and laid it down on the back of the battery with the speaker facing up.  Seems to sound a little better facing up.

You can see the silver speaker cone move when listening to something with some base.

it has no USB charging! deal breaker imo. festool always late to the game with non brushless cxs and finally led indicator on their 18v line which is like ancient tech.

I think if it had an internal battery you'd hate the battery life and it would be even more of a detractor.

Which means we will get that radio next year and folks who bought it this year will be pissed. we don't care a wink about DAB here in the states, but the USB seems to be something folks want.

Festool should keep to making and improving existing tools and get out of the non-tool items like radios, coolers, and other non-sense items they are selling or have sold. $120 for that is ridiculous. There target market is the people who only have Festool tools.

Got my sysrock dab last week and I'm well impressed with it, much better than my old makita. I think the sound quality is great at the lower levels, yeah the bass is lacking the higher the volume is but it's bloody tiny so that really isn't a shock. It's certainly not made for a building site tho but it's perfect for me working in people's houses with rarely any other trades about
