I agree with your comments. There was a time where buying "Blue" meant buying an industrial class product. The company now seems to be building different levels of quality into their tools. Many of the Blue range quite frankly aren't up to the task, especially in their cordless range, and really belong in the Green, D.I.Y. range. This is poor product differentiation that will hurt the company in the longer term.
Festool, by contrast, only manufacture industrial class products, so by and large you know what you're getting.
