I would like to thank everybody at Festool HQ for the awesome opportunity in going to class with such a great group and staff.  Minnie, Shane, Mark, Rick, and the "Ausie" Bruce were spot on.  My class was treated great.

Mark is a great teacher and is the sort that takes stock of student imput, so I would have to guess that the next class will be ever so slightly improved.  The man is a hoot I can't imagine anybody not having a great time at class.

I went to class thinking I was going to by breakfast, lunch and dinner.  I was wrong.  Festool brought in a nice sandwich for lunch and awesome bbq for diner.  The hotel they arranged for their classes was a FairField wich was reasonably price with nice ammenities.

I would strongly suggest that if the opportunity to go to one of the many classes availible, do it!  You will not be disappointed.  Someone in my class compared this trip to a pilgrimage and that Festool HQ is our Mecca.  If it is not that, it must be pretty close.

Thanks again Festool USA, C Hughes

Chris,

I'll give you hint based on my experience going to the first class.  And your class was much more concentrated in content.  I would guess you are probably still in education shock.  Their method of teaching is so natural that it isn't even teaching.  But the cool thing is that in the future you will be thinking about something and out of the blue a memory of something you saw or learned will magically appear.  It might have been littlest thing.  And when it does, you will use some little piece of information that was stored away.  And you will smile.  And it will be good.  And you will want to post here about what just happened.

Did you notice that contrary to common belief there wasn't any green liquids served?  It's a myth.

Peter

Chris,

Just as with all of the other groups we've had come for end-user training, you guys were great.  We really enjoy hosting these events and the pleasure is definitely all ours.  It was nice meeting you in person.  Feel free to swing by and visit us again any time you're in the area.  Or, maybe we'll see you again for another class in the future.

Shane

I have to echo Chris's "THANKS!!" for a great training experience!!  "Party Girl" Minnie was a fabulous concierge making sure we were fed and well cared for.  Brian is an absolute hoot!  What a great trainer, despite the abuse he received from Shane.  ;D  Rick helped keep everyone in order and "Aussie" Bruce showed us he could go two days without breaking anything.  Well done, Bruce.  Shane was a great help with all the technology.  What a genius.

All the Festool folks are passionate about Festool and caring for us, the end users.  This is a great family.

If you have the opportunity, a visit to a Festool training session is a MUST.  I learned many new tips and tricks not only from Brian and Rick, but from my fellow pilgrims as well.  Thanks for everything, folks!!

I meant Brian "the hairy armed", not Mark.  My Bad Brian [embarassed].  It was fun Bill thanks for your insight as well.

I would like to chime in here as well. It would be easy to say thanks, had a great time, learned a lot but that would not do this program justice. It is so rare in this day to meet a "team" of people who work so well together. Who are so passionate about the product they sell and the people they service with that product. This is a great program that  contains information to benefit all skill levels.  I would like to say THANKS to Brian, Rick, Shane, our "mate" Bruce and last but most certainly not least our party host Minnie. Thanks guys, and gals, learned a lot and already looking forward to the next opportunity with FESTOOL. Tim [thumbs up]

Tim,

Welcome to the forum and congrats on a first post.   [welcome] [welcome] [welcome]

Your post and those of others who have attended the classes give credence to the posts of all the others who have posted about their experiences and enjoyment as previous attendees.

Festool USA really is different.

I all so have to say, I had a great time at the END USERS TRAINING CLASS. I learned a lot about cabinet construction using the system from festool, So I thank you every much and can't wait to come back for another class. But the thing that impressed me was, how great the company is. Everyone is just one big family and how the owners care about them. Now I don't work for festool but they made me feel like I'm part of that family. So again A BIG THANKS to every at festools and to my class, Tim,Bill,Daniel,Chris,Andrew,Harold and Alex.

And I need to get so web sites from Alex on the bench dogs for the MFT(if they are called that ) and the little squares you had at the class.

Thanks peter. I had a user name before the changing of the guard (Matthew) took place. I came on one day and I was logged out and my user name wouldn't work. Out of displeasure with what was happening on the site at that time I never corrected the problem and have just lurked since. So that wasn't technically my first post, nor am I new here but thanks for the welcome. I will make effort to participate better that I did in the past. Bob to answer your questions, as Alex and I spoke about the same tools, the small try square he had was from Bridge City Tool Works, the little solid set up triangle was from woodpecker.com and the dogs I believe he said contact Qwas on talkfestool.com. TIM

Alex,
Thanks, Tim and brice was right. I got the DSS-6 the MK-1 kerfmaker. (LOVE THEM )They asked how i found-out about them. I told them about the class and you had some of the tools with you. Want to order some more things (any got to have tools you can think of ) , so i don't know if i give  them your name again if you get some free things? Also picked-up some Qwas dogs and rail dogs too.(love them too)

Would like to be in the router class in april but maybe next time. Hope to see you in some of the classes some time soon. Thanks again Alex.

I never get any free stuff for recommending anybody's tools - not even a hat!  I just received the DJ-1 last week and am eager to try it this weekend.  I also have a triangular no-glare bench rule from BCT that is great.  I have the 12", but it also comes in 6".  The JMP will probably ship later this month or next.  I'm always glad to share my discoveries.

The April class will be a mini reunion with Chris & Tim.  I'm really looking forward to it!  I'm trying to get a grant from Pepsi's refresh everything and if I do, there will be lots of stuff to experiment with when I get the project done.  I might have to host a few classes myself!

The triangular rule looks great . May have to put it on my list. The JMP is that the JOINTMAKER PRO V2? That thing looks great.

Keep me posted on your classes, sounds like a road tip.

" The JMP is that the JOINTMAKER PRO V2?"  You guessed it, Bob!  Great for precise cuts on smaller projects.  I had a demo in California over Christmas and I was sure I needed one!

I'm looking forward to the next class this month!
