The All Festool Shop

John, if you've answered this already I apologize - are you using the Pinnacle top in the MFT for you router table?  I'm thinking of going this route.  I like the size of it for doing large pieces and the ability to switch out the tops as need in intriguing.  I saw on your site what looks to be the Pinnacle coping sled, is that correct?  If so how do you like it?

he answerd the questions, I would add you probably would want not to switch out the tops, unless you have all the time in the world and limited space.  because lots of time you switch the top and then need the mft top, and back to the router again.. but it all depends on what type of stuff you do in  your shop.  I have my router table set up on the kreg blue stand they can out with awhile ago, and I have the sommerfeld top and fence, I like it very much, but I think I am going to switch to the pinaccale top on its seperate stand I have to go to woodcraft and look at it in more detail to see it.  I use my router table mainly for making cabinet doors for the bookcase and entertainment centers that I build on a regular basis.  most of my other routing I do with the portabe ones I have,  ( you know... one router for each bit and then an extra router in case you by another bit that you don't really need. !)  I used to go the the woodworking show every 6 months when I was in Los Angeles.... and I would buy some cool looking bits... bring them home and realize I already had 3 of the same kind already!

Due to a temporary situation, I had to move my Unisaw into storage. While it was there, a couple of paying jobs came my way where I had to use the ATF55. I already knew it would cut straight and smooth and I have been using my router table to make dadoes and rabbets. The thing is, I got so used to the 55 that the Uni is still in storage and will go up for sale shortly. I did buy a DeWalt job site saw to handle some balusters that had to be made for a deck repair. I'll keep the DeWalt and use the ATF until I get enough miles on it for an upgrade. I actually would have bought the larger Festool but I needed the saw immediately as a sale of the house was pending and the owner offered to pay for the DeWalt so I could keep working and avoid the 130 mile r/t to get the 75.

I really have gotten used to working without the cabinet saw, even constructing two fairly large cabinet jobs with it.
