The new upcoming Systainers?

Ok, I'm confused and can't be the only one. In the new offerings is a units called SYS3-Rack 337 It holds 6 smaller Systainers. There are others on the same page called S 76.
Are these the same thing that Tanos calls "mini"? I have a couple of minis, from Shaper, so I assume that is the same thing? just that Festool hasn't used that size?
Systainer Store has offered them in anthracite, for quite a while, in the older T-Loc style, so maybe that explains the name change, since these are SYS3?

The older T-LOC Mini-I's will fit, but they won't stay in place without grinding part of the base away.

MINIs are T-Loc generation.
Systainer3 S 76 is the new Systainer3 version.

Both do fit in the Rack, from what I've seen and been told but I've not played with it.  The caveat, as pointed out is that MINIs may not stay in the rack without some modification or aftermarket solution.

MINIs will be available for a while at Systainer Store till stock runs out and I'm starting to believe that we will see the S 76 and its slightly taller family members in the fall here.

Now that you mention it, I would be curious to hear from [member=77693]melroseg[/member] if there were any pictures of said modification.

Also, does the "surgery" that allows them to slot into the Sys-RACK prevent them from locking together in a stack outside of the rack?  If so, that would be a complete non-starter for me, because I like to lock stacks together to carry them.

Well that's unfortunate. As bad as some of us talk about the regular Sys3 "update", at least they are fully compatible with the TLoc generation.

I really had no interest in mixing them. It's just whether I go with Tanos in anthracite or wait for the Festool version. I don't necessarily mind the anthracite ones, but I would much rather have the latches in a different color.
I've seen latches available separately for the full sized ones, but not minis.

Before you get a torch and a fork, there is no update/ new Systainer.

It’s a new product in the SYS3 family, and the only compatibility issue at hand might, or might not, be between “old T-Loc” and “new SYS3” !Mini! Systainers that go into said product.

Really nothing to get upset about, it is what is. And for every customer FT looses, there are at least ten new ones emerging from YT and go on a buying spree to hail the new releases. And twenty more really long for the stuff but lack the funds and still buy a Festool pencil to make up for it. …

We outside the YT world dont matter anymore, maybe we never did.

Keep what works, ditch what doesn’t.

Sorry - trying to post this via my phone, not as easy as I’d hoped! I don’t have photos of my mods (I just multi-tooled the feet to look like the new Sys3 mini feet). It doesn’t stop them from stacking with existing T-Loc minis or other Sys3 minis though. I’d be ashamed to share pictures of my butchers job anyway, to be honest, it was a fast and ugly job because the lowest multi-tool speed still causes melting. I would think a dremel type tool would do a cleaner job - but it works, they lock in and stay locked into the rack and they still stack with other T-Loc and/or Sys3 minis no problem.

This is a misunderstading.

The new SYS3 S series are actually the *only* SYS3 series which are fully compatible - including the heights. And they are also the only universal improvement - they added integral dividers which are really good. There is really no downside to the S76 as compared to the old Minis. Only pluses.

The "old" Minis never worked with the new Rack ... for there was no Rack for them ever. This is similar how the T-Locs do not work with the Bott rails.

Do check sys-classic.de if you cannot get some stuff in US. Not sure of the shipping costs, but it is a small family store that will ship worldwide. Especially for latches and such the shipping should be mostly fine.

crazyraceguy, in the states ToolNut has mini latches available. (I'm pretty sure other sites do too.) And their mini T-loc systainers are quite discounted at the moment, 25-30 bucks depending on the dividers inside, or 20 bucks empty. The mini latches are 6.50, at a lighter discount.

Now, I'm going to buy the pencil to put in it!!!!
