Thick Panels

I'm currently pricing out a job that requires alot of "thick" panels.  I'll try to explain it as best as I can without photos... The job is for several freestanding 8' Tall cabinet boxes - which I'll probably make out of 3/4" melamine.  The doors will be 3/4" full overlay veneered MDF.  On the outside of all cabinet boxes - I need to apply thick walnut veneered panels (approx 2 thick") which will give a heavy frame effect around the box and it will also make the doors appear inset rather than full overlay.

So I'm trying to find out if there's a ready made product I could use for these thick panels.  What about lightweight honeycomb core ?  Has anyone tried this?  Any other ideas?

I did consider laminating my own 2" thick panels using MDF or plywood, but this is a pretty big job and I'd rather not laminate that many full sheets.  I'd appreciate any ideas or products.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks Norwegian - you must be on here even more than me!  I posted a question a couple of days ago and you responded to that one too.  I'll definitely look into these panels.  Have you worked with it before?  Is it difficult to put solid wood edging on?

I love the idea of a strong, lightweight panel since this is purely for aesthetic purposes...

that wasnt the brand i used but for the life of me i can not remember the name of the one i worked with. but it was very similar. as far as edging it i hollowed out the edges and glued in some solid stock between the luan layers and went from there.
