Thoughts on sanding drywall with a Festool sander.

[member=52895]Gjarman12[/member] My CT26 is still fairly new, and is a HEPA machine. I haven't really looked at the filter. The job I am doing is renovation work for the inlaws, I don't use it every day on drywall. If I did then I should be using a CT36AC with the automatic filter clean.
I've used the little Festool hand sander with my dust deputy equipped shop vac to finish drywall. I put a router speed controller on it so the sander wasn't pulled too tight to the ceiling. It worked well and really cut down the dust. It wasn't a huge area and I was just finishing a top coat where I had damaged the paper a bit taking down popcorn ceiling. Worked well. The dust deputy seemed to get most of the drywall dust. It had a large amount in the bucket under it and the filter was not clogged and didn't even have significant visible dust in it (quasi HEPA filter).
I can sand faster with a sanding sponge but I will also get a talking to from LOML. In a large area I might try a power sander but on regular drywall mud it doesn't take much effort to do by hand. The setting type mud (hot mud) is much harder and a power sander isn't a bad idea. If I did this for a living, maybe I'd use a power sander for all of it. That Planex looks nice. I wonder how it works relative to the similar PC sander.

I use Granat with an ETS150/5 for drywall plaster sanding and usually my CT-Mini. Does a great job and never had a problem.
taking the filter out and and giving it a bash when you empty the bag is reasonable practice if you're not generally using it for harmful stuff.
