I see that they are 10 minutes from my house in Chicago, I thought they were based on the East Coast in the past?.  By appointment only, so if I never make time to see them , I will dutifully NOT risk spending money on Mafell tools.... [wink]

They still have their east coast presence, however, they opened a second distribution center in IL about 12-18 months ago, probably to decrease shipping times to everywhere west of the Miss.

.  Yes, I went back to their on-line site and found the address that I vaguely remembered from the past.    Timberwolf Tools
P.O. Box 25
Newry, ME 04261

Still, it’s dangerous to my wallet to have their Midwest location so close to home... [scared]
I could end up with a Mafell Jigsaw ...easily....Slipperly slope from there... [embarassed]

Do yourself a favor...really.  [thumbs up] [thumbs up]
. Do you own one? I forget, Mafell tools work okay on Festool tracks or is it that Festool doesn’t work well on Mafell Tracks?

Once you go Red, you won't go back.  I do not believe Festool works on Fafel tracks.

Ya, I finally pulled the pin last spring.  [not worthy] [not worthy]...Mafell

I believe the Mafell track saw works on Festool rails, however the Mafell jigsaw does not. [sad]  [sad] Then again that's the justification to pick up the Mafell Aerofix vacuum rail.  [big grin]

Festool saws do not work on Mafell rails, but the Mafell MT55cc does work on Festool rails. I have an MF26cc (groove cutter) and I have never flipped it over to see if it has the slots for Festool rails. I will assume it does since the saws have are very similar. I would guess that some of the other saws would work as well.

. Still NOT helping my wallet here.... [eek]

Talked to them earlier today.  Call before you go.  They have a few of their saws on display.  Not really a showroom.  Of course in IL you pay IL sales tax but can forego shipping if you pick them up.

No Erika's on display.

. The building is not big either. I’ve driven by it countless times while eyeing up the sign... [tongue]
Any P1cc ‘s on display?

Not to tempt you even more, but they are starting to sell the cordless saws as well.   Currently they only have the "Bare" MT55, but expect to have the set (with two batteries and charger), in stock within 4 weeks.  Up until now, people have been ordering the cordless tools from England (via Ebay), but Timberwolf's prices are slightly lower, particularly shipping.

and the cordless stuff is great. Been using the Kss 40 for a year and half now and just converted my 400 and MT to cordless. Nice stuff:)

If you buy a Mafell saw then you'll want the Mafell tracks, imo. They are very well refined. In fact, I sold off all my Festool tracks. Imo, once you've used Mafell tracks you never go back.

I agree - Mafell is great for the tools I have from them. I still like things about the FT tracks like the green plastic to help reduce friction on the saw base, but other than that, the Mafell are easy to join, machined dead flat and square on the edge, easy to replace anti-splinter guard and in my opinion, and most importantly, you can clamp close to the cutting edge make narrow rips easier than FT guide rails.

The P1CC is game changing. I think I am guilty getting some folks here to try Mafell, but it is one of those things that once you try, you smile every time you get to use the tool, or at least I do. Of course, I still smile when I use many of my FT tools too...so take that for what it is worth.

Seriously - you cannot go wrong and TW is a top notch dealer who stands behind what they sell.
