TKS80 - cant raise saw blade

Just purchased a Festool TKS80 and got delivery of it yesterday (what a hassle lol) .  Excited to get it working. 

Anyhow, the blade up/down doesnt seem to work.  Its locked while trying to turn it.  The blade angle works perfectly.

I didnt see a festool safety pin anywhere (though it did say to remove the safety pin).  Not sure if this is related to it.

Removing the cover underneath, it looks like the first part of the saw tries to turn (maybe a 1/4 of an inch), but it goes through some sort of ring that locks or something.  Because the spindle on the otherside of this ring does not turn at all.

any comments and ideas would be great ? The festool manual is downright atrocious. . lol

yep.  studies that video numerous times.  I didnt seem to have  a safety pin installed as I didnt see it in the box either.

but I still cant get the blade handle to turn.  Like at all.  it "wiggles" like a 1/4 of an inch from the play in the handle but the blade doesnt move and it doesnt transmit that movement through the axle through the saw. 

Quite annoying .. just wondering if I'm missing something simple.  But it cant be that complex, right ? lol

What if that safety pin broke off and the end is still lodged inside the hole?

dont know.  that is certainly a possibility because it looks to be the gear is locked up. .  I dont see any loose pins and/or where the safety pin was supposed to be or what it held in place.  I'll get up in there with a flashlight and look again.  I think I've been down there for hours without seeing anything  .  . lol

so the final solution - dealer said to really turn the handle and give it a shot because the gears will sometimes misalign during shipping. Well sure enough - turning it with a lot of elbow grease, stronger than you would want to on a festool table saw with aluminum and plastic pieces, you could hear the gears grind and then seat.  Now it travels smoothly up and down.
