Transfer of Festool Warranty in the UK for secondhand item?

I would like to ask the UK members if they have any experience of warranty issues after purchasing a second-hand Festool item which has previously been registered but is still within the 2 year (or 3 year if extended) warranty period.

If I was to buy a used Festool tool that had previously been registered with Festool and was purchased from the original registree and was approximately 6 months old, what, if any of the remaining warranty would be transferred with the tool:

Would the remaining 18 months of the 2 year warranty be still valid?

Would the additional year of warranty (3rd year) also be included (obviously moot if the above question is zero)?

Are you able to re-register the tool with Festool as a different owner?

Has anyone previously looked into this issue and what was the result?

TIA, Eddie.

I purchased a barely used Domino 500 that only had 11 months left of its original 3 year warranty.
I asked the person I brought if from, what was the procedure for transferring the warranty. He said he didn't know, so I contacted Festool UK and asked them. The girl I spoke to said as long as the tool had been registered with them when new and they had a record of the Snr & Tnr numbers, the balance of the warranty was still valid.

On that basis, I contacted the guy I brought the Domino from and asked him if it was necessary, would he be willing to reassure Festool uk that I had purchased the machine from him. He said he would, so I went ahead and got the Domino from him.

So far, 6 months later, the Domino is still works a treat and certainly doesn't look its age, even though it has had quite a workout since I got it.

If you want clarification on this, just give Festool UK a ring and explain the situation, they were really helpful and I'm sure they must have come across this situation many times.

Over the years I've sold a few Festools, and when I asked Festool UK about it, they said there's no problem transferring the warranty I just need to let them know.

Every time I've sold one, I've e-mailed Festool UK giving them my details and the details of the new owner, the tool and serial numbers, and the date of the transfer.

Having said that, I've never received any kind of confirmation acknowledging the transfers, and all the machines I've sold are still visible in the 'myMachines' section of the Festool app (or in the 'myFestool' section of the website), so technically I guess they're still registered to me. Seems Festool UK have never changed any of the details on their system. [unsure]

Hi
Sure it can be transferred. It is the machine that the warranty applies to so a call to Marketing will enablke the transfer of warranty.

Festool UK have major difficulties adjusting anything in the My Machines section of the App - I have a couple of duplicates that show up that they can't get rid off.
