Okay,
I'll be the first to admit I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed but...

I just bought a new barrel grip Trion, a few blades and the stop?? (to connect it to the guide rail) + the edge guide.

For the life of me I can't get the stop & edge guide in the systainer with the saw!

Is this possible?  How?

If not, can someone suggest which sortainer (prefered) or systainer I need to buy to hold the saw accessories. I may end up with the circle jig also in the future.

Thanks,

Scott

Hi,

Take a look at this thread    Systainers, Sortainers, Organization -- Help   or do a search for    systainer  tray   . It will be the first thread on the search results.

You will find a whole discussion of this  as well as pics of a lift out tray to add an additional layer of storage to a systainer - III with the jig saw in it.  This would require getting a sys - II to use for the jig saw in stead of the  sys - I that it comes with.  A sortainer attached to the bottom would well also.

Thanks Seth,
I read the whole thread but came to no real conclusion other than "what I have won't do it!"

Sooo... Did anyone find out if the 4 drawer sortainer with the 1 lg drawer will work to hold the edge & circle guide with the other drawers being used for blades, guide rail stop, the little plastic zero clearance inserts etc.?

I don't mind buying what I need (Just ask Timmy C  ;) ) but I would like to be sure it will work.

BTW,  What do you guys do with the manuals? They don't seem to fit in the systainers without being in the way either.

Thanks,

Scott

Thanks,

I put all my manuals in a Systainer maxi, with warranty cards in the Sortainer 6

[/quote]i put it inside the systainer, under the black plastic tray.

I have mine in the 4-drawer Sortainer.

The saw and plug-it cord are in the large drawer.  The guidebar plate is in the midsized drawer.  I don't have the circle cutting guide, but i have a lot of miscelanious items in the smaller drawers.  Some of what i have in there is unrelated to the jigsaw as I am slowly adding more sortainers.

Once i have "sorted" everything into drawers, I will then sort drawers into some sort of order so i can find things instantly.

I think those 4-drawer sortainers are the handiest... so far.  By the time i have exhausted the need for the 4-drawers, I will have a good idea of the next most valuable size.

Scott--

I've got a Systainer 1 Vari, the foam-lined one, for my jigsaw accessories.

Some blades are stored in original Festool Packets, some are stored in plastic tubes.  Some are stored with the jigsaw.

The chrome thing inside the guide stop is a Collins Coping Foot.  I bought it on the strength of comments on FOG (possibly the old FOG).  Haven't used it yet.

The Sortainer 4 would be more convenient, especially for blade storage, but the Sys 1 Vari works well and is half the cost.  Perhaps the biggest advantage of the Sortainer is that you'd neve have to remove it from the Systainer containing the jigsaw.

Thanks All,

I've got Timmy C on it.

He is going to see how it all goes together in a 4 drawer Sortainer for me.

Hi,

The sortainer with the large drawer probably makes the most sense.  I don't think the some of the accessories will fit in the other drawer sizes. Plus as Tinker said the saw can go in the large drawer. making it an all in one.

I keep my manuals in a file cabinet. But if you want them in the Systainers how about just putting them under the black insert? Available when needed , but out of the way.

The Edge Guide, the circle cutter, and the guide stop will all fit in the lower drawer of the 4 drawer sort.  This leaves the upper row for blades and such.  The guide stop will also fit in the middle drawer of top row as well.

Thanks Timmy

I'll order one
