TS55 Hose Connections

I am going to order a TS55 but the CT22 is going to have to wait for a while. Is there an adapter or kit that can be purchased to connect the TS55 to a 2" setup on a shop vac. I want to get the CT22 but it is out of the budget at this time.
Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

One solution is to use a Festool 27mm hose.  The large end of that hose fits right into the vacuum port on my Craftsman shop vac, and I assume any shop vac with the same size hose fittings.

David,

Would it be better to get the 36mm Hose?  The Dust Collector will come with the 27mm hose if/when he gets one.  The 36mm Hose is what's needed for the Kapex and increasing dust collection while routing, etc.  Is there any reason to not get the 36mm now?

Hi, awmasparky

Welcome to the forum.  :)

I second the idea of getting the d36 hose to use with the TS55 since the CT comes with the d27. If you can swing that in your budget. You will find the d36 hose useful in the future when not if you end up getting a Festool router. If that doesn't happen then it should be no trouble to sell which ever size hose you don't use  after you get a CT.  The festool hoses readily fit into standard shop vacs.
If you want to go the adapter method I know that a couple people on the FOG will chime in with the "how to" parts.

Ok,
A D36 hose 452883, and the nozzle connector 487721? I think this is what is needed. I guess the D36 will connect to my Shop Vac without any adapters?

Thanks for the help. I would like to order the right setup the first time.

Thanks a bunch, Mike

Hi,

Yes, the vac end will connect to a Shop Vac with out an adapter. You don't need the 487721 nozzle connector. The D36 will fit the TS55 as is.  Now you just have to decide between AS and non AS.  See this threadhttp://festoolownersgroup.com/index.php?topic=3648.0

Thanks for the help!

I placed my order and can't wait to get the TS55. I hope it is as good as I hear it is. This should make things easier in my small garage shop.

Thanks again, Mike

Congratulations. You're going to love your TS55.  I struggled with a contractor table saw in close quarters for quite a while before I purchased a TS75.  What a difference.  Now I only need a space of about 9ft x 5ft to work on sheet goods, where I used to need about 20ft x 7ft
