TS55 inconsistent motor sound?

So my TS55 started behaving oddly today while cutting 3/4" plywood, speed 5.  The motor is sounding very inconsistent throughout the cut (bogging down periodically?), despite a consistent feed rate.  Blade is the original 48T that is clean and still feels sharp to me.  Saw has had a few years of hobbyist use but nothing too heavy (heck, the original blade is still sharp), but this behavior seems new.  The best way to describe the feel of the saw while cutting is "wobbly" (without any physical wobble).  Cut quality on the plywood is totally fine.

Any idea what to check or what might be going on?  I'm afraid it might be headed to Festool.  Unfortunately went out of warranty a half year back.

I would suggest that the blade - after a couple of years of hobbyist use - might need to be resharpened before you consider returning the saw to Festool.  My guess is that the noise is the electronics doing their job.

That's a fair point.  I went back and made a few more long cuts and the saw seems to be fine but the sound definitely makes things seem unsteadier than they are.  I'll pop on a new blade and see if that fixes things.  Thanks.

Sorry to maybe hijack the thread, but I'm pretty much in the exact same position as you. Same hobbyist use of a couple years, and it started jerking last week during a few cuts. Really felt like the motor was not up to the task (which it clearly is).

The blade is sharp, and leaves crisp cuts. Just had the case (the part where the blade is) open after the sound started to clean out the case and blade.

Today, cutting the long edge of a 15mm plywood sheet the saw simply stopped at the end of the cut (speed 6). The cut is still super sharp, but I worry for my saw. During the cut I had the same sounds, and jerky motions (even though I fed it right). I tried starting the saw without cutting anything and it sounded "weak", and didnt have the normal screachy-startup-sound. Waited a couple of minutes and the sound was fine again. This was in my garage after maybe 5 cuts, so the saw was not too warm.

Need to finish up this project, so I'm gonna go to the dealer tomorrow morning. Did you get yours fixed?
